The attractions your company will get from the customer mostly depend on the contents you created and shared in those media. There are three main reasons why people use social media: They want to be informed, entertained, and connected. Therefore, it is utmost important for us to create a informative yet interesting contents in our social media tools. I've also learnt about different types of content specific to social media from text to video. I've also learnt about how to make full use of hashtag for your company's products in order to ease the customer in looking for them on the Internet. Next, I've also learnt about different type of influencers in the social media and how can they boost your company's brand respectively.

3. Fortunately, I discovered a YouTube channel that has a lot of animation about how each machine work. This makes me felt very easy to understand as I do no need to imagine by myself. Besides, my supervisor also did a lot of discussions with my friend and I through the Microsoft team by teaching us more about how exactly the machine works. The most interesting part will be the smearing process, even though I could not have the hands-on experience, but I understand that it could be done in two ways which are automated and manually.

3.Points to remember from week 2.
-important of smearing process as if done wrongly can lead to wrong diagnosis.
-knowing the function and theory about each of the machines in the laboratory are important.
-searching information wisely through internet as it sometimes may give the wrong ideas, hence ,need to discuss with friend and supervisor.

4.Your feelings and thoughts.
I felt fruitful throughout the discussion process with the supervisor and my friend as they clear my doubts immediately. It was great that during this covid-19 pandemic I still can learn a lot of knowledge as usual. Besides, I am grateful that my supervisor could contribute all her time to my friend and I . Moreover, I also think that there is still a lot more knowledge in the hematological lab for me to dig and understand which makes me so excited throughout this posting.

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now!
I will always ask myself why and keep wondering about the things that happen around me as this can make me learn more and at the same time build a better me in the future.

6.Any difficulties/concerns ? How is your progress?
I continued self-learning throughout this week as the COVID cases kept on surging. I learnt the basic operation of different kinds of equipment by watching YouTube videos. I was indeed amazed by how advanced the lab equipment is as some of them are able to automatically stain the slides and conduct analysis properly. For instance, the machine named Sysmex SP-10 which is indicated for the full blood picture has the ability to perform various staining methods on samples including Wright stain and May-Giemsa stain, as well as generating an output of 120 samples per hour which is considerably efficient! Besides that, with the help of my supervisor and friend, I managed to understand more about the principles of flow cytometry in the machine used for full blood count.

3. Points to remember from week 2!
-Do not be afraid to learn new things as you will eventually get the gist of it after knowing the basics.
-Always seek help from others when you do not understand instead of keeping it within yourself as you will never know how easy to understand it by listening to other's opinion.

4. Your feelings & thoughts
I was excited to know the existence of such high-tech equipment in the haematological labs as I always thought all the procedures were conducted manually. I also felt inspired by the creativity and brilliance of those who innovated the machines to benefit the mankind in the healthcare field.

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now!
Always encourage myself to learn more as the medical field involves a lifelong learning journey.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?
Honestly speaking, I was confused when words such as wavelength and particle came across my mind during the process of learning the operation of machines. Other than that, my friend and I were only able to ask my supervisor via WhatsApp and Microsoft Team as the pandemic hit hard in our country. It was quite challenging to imagine the operation of those equipment in real life. To overcome this, I browsed through different websites to reinforce my Physics knowledge. I also felt grateful as our supervisor was keen to give us a virtual lab tour in next week.

7. 2 words to describe elective posting progress so far
Thrilling and amazing.

8.
Pixel Art Designing For Video Games

EP WEEK 2

1. Your name, matric number, date
NEEVEHTHA A/P NYANAJOTHI
A172220
(25/7/2021 - 31/7/2021)

2. How is your progress?
For this week I learned how to design a background for pixel art-based games from the lectures given. This week's lectures focused on a technique called tiling and dithering, which helps to blend colors in pixel designing. I was also thought about keyboards shortcuts that made using photoshop a breeze. Next, I managed to answer the quizzes and score pretty well in them. The highlight for this week is that I had to complete a scenery design for a Nintendo switch game and I chose to design a seaside with mountains. Finally, I was introduced to an application called Unity, a cross-platform game engine where game designers upload their artwork for game developers to work on.

3. Points to remember from week 2!
- Dithering technique is used in pixel art design to ensure there are no harsh color blocks in our pixel artwork.
- Deciding on color schemes that are suitable for certain backgrounds and avoiding using black and white for backgrounds as it is more suitable for main characters and villains of a game.
- Keyboard shortcuts that can be used to make using Photoshop less complicated.

4. Your feelings & thoughts

This week I felt that the course had become more challenging as we progressed from designing objects to designing an entire background. I chose a simple scenery by the seaside but it proved to be harder than it seemed. I truly found out that one needs a lot of patience when it comes to design as it took me more than an hour to design something as simple as clouds and at one point I almost gave up. Navigating through photoshop was difficult as well but I would say I am slowly getting used to it. It took me a long time to be satisfied with my design but at the end of the day, it was worth it to see the finished product.

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

I learned that in times of difficulties we should always keep going because even if the journey is hard the destination will make it worth it.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

As for difficulties, pixel art is not as simple as it seemed. Before designing something I have to count the number of boxes that are needed by a particular object and it's harder to estimate for inorganic shapes. The coloring part difficult as well since I felt that the colors looked odd and harsh at some places which made me disappointed and I kept redoing the scenes again and again. As I was introduced to Unity this week, navigating through a new application was also a little tough but I'm sure it will be better once I get the hang of it. I have also told myself that I shouldn't critic myself too much since this is my very first time designing.

7. 2 words to describe elective posting progress so far

Exciting, Confusing

8. Your plan for next week (Week 3)

For week 3, I'll be learning how to design characters in a video and what are the processes a designer goes through before a character is accepted. I will be asked to design a character of my own and I am really excited for it.

Theoretically, patents mean an exclusive right (limited monopoly) granted for an invention to the patent owner with the rights to decide how or whether the invention can be used by others, whereas trademarks mean any sign capable of being represented graphically which is capable of distinguishing goods or services of one undertaking from those of other undertakings. I have been well informed on patentable and non-patentable inventions, the rights and limitation of patent owner as well as the common patents around us. As for trademarks, I managed to read on types of trademarks available, registrable & non registrable trademarks as well as the purposes and importance of trademark registration. I also discovered some websites which are very helpful to consolidate my understanding on these topics. All in all, my progress is doing good as I have completed all of the tasks as per scheduled.

Points to remember from week 2 :

Patents prevent others from making or selling an invention

Trademarks protect the words, phrases, symbols, logos, or other devices used to identify the source of goods or services from usage by other competitors

Not all inventions are patentable and not all inventions can be registered for trademarks

Your feelings & thoughts :

I feel incredibly excited to be able to learn deeper on these topics. I am now realized on how important these intellectual property rights even though I have just started.

1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now :

I learnt that it is important to be well-equipped on knowledge about our rights in protecting our ideas and inventions because not all are aware of these rights.

1. Name: Nashrul Ashraf Bin Nazri

Matrix no.: A166745

Week: 02

Date: 8/7 – 14/7/2021

2. How is your progress?

In the second week, I learned and go through the Introduction to Lens Studio and the basics such as the Lens Studio dashboard, lens vs. filter, and an overview of built-in templates in this module. Lens Studio is Snapchat's in-house software that lens creators around the world use to create their own AR lens on the platform. Lens Studio is made up of a group of modular panels. Any panel can be moved and scaled to a better suit of our needs. So basically I go went through all the features and components in the Lens Studio to get to use of it as I need to complete the task of creating lenses as tutorials in the next week to finish this course.

3. Points to remember from week 2!

Based on my learning, I could summary of each panel. First,

Scene. It visualizes our Lens scene in 3D space. The Scene is where we’re able to manipulate the position, scale, and rotation of 3D objects. The Scene panel will automatically transitions to the 2D Scene mode when working with Face Effects, Screen Image, and Post Effect. Next, objects. It lists all objects that make up our current scene. Objects can be parented to one another through a simple drag and drop. Then, inspector. It edits any parameters on any selected object. Additionally, I can add components to the selected object. Components are functional building blocks for the objects I am creating. In addition, resources. It imports new assets into your project and manages existing assets.

Lastly, preview. It presents your Lens experiences running in real-time. Lens Studio comes with a series of preview videos that include tracking data. With these videos, you'll be able to preview what your Lenses would look like in the world or applied to a face.

4. Your feelings & thoughts

I love it! Now, I can master a bit with some basic principles of this platform. I am so excited to learn more about the basic principles of template design, especially face mask lenses.

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

As my practice creating filters and lenses, I send all my training works to all my Snapchat friends.
Excel 101 in a Blink

Name: Nur Qurratu Ain Binti Shamsul Murfiz
Matrix Number: A168593
EP Week 2 (03/08/2021- 10/08/2021)

How is my progress?
This week I have managed to complete a simple spreadsheet guided by a course on LinkedIn. I managed to learn how to use the formula wisely and easily. Mathematical operations were easier to solve with the help of Microsoft Excel. It took me just a few clicks and I can make a spreadsheet on the total sales of a certain company. Amazing, isn't it? I was so fascinated by the amount of time and energy I manage to save by solving and organizing mathematical operations and spreadsheets on Microsoft Excel. Other than that, I also managed to finish up a course on Coursera on the topic "Problem Solving Using Microsoft Excel". And guess what? I managed to score the quiz on the basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Here's to small improvement and progress compared to the previous week!

Points to remember from Week 2

There are three types of data that can be used in Microsoft Excel which are: Numbers, Words and Formula.

Do you know that in Excel numbers are wrapped to the right while words are wrapped to the left?

Another interesting fact is only DATE will fit in one box and extend the box automatically and accordingly.

My feelings and thoughts
I am delighted that I can finally understand the gist of Microsoft Excel. This excites me to learn more so I will be more fluent so that in the future I do not have to rely on videos or even others to do my spreadsheet works because Excel is easy as ABC.

1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now
I learned that in order to be successful and to be fluent in one aspect, we need to always practice, practice and practice. Practice is the key, theory is essential however without practice, we can't go anywhere with the theory only because we might forget sooner or later.

Difficulties and concerns. How did I cope?
I find it difficult to make it a discipline and to sit on the chair and learn it everyday as the topic was quite dry on some days. So I tend to take short breaks and give myself time to relax before starting with another dry topic.

2 words to describe elective posting progress so far

Elated

Enlighten

Your plan for next week (Week 3)
Finish up my course to obtain my certificate and do more exercises!

Korean Language Intensive Class

Muhammad Harith Syakir Bin Mohd Zain

GA04006

(19/6/2021 - 25/6/2021)

2. How is your progress?

For week 2, we then proceed to vocabulary learning for the Korean language. The spectrum is broad. It includes nationality, occupation and family members of a person or individual. There are lots of surnames and salutations to be considered and aware of when addressing someone, either older or younger than us. Furthermore, we also learnt how to call inanimate things, objects, adjectives and verbs basically.

We noted that batchim rules still are applied to this level of sentences and will always be. The nouns and grammar are divided into parts so that we, the students, can go through slowly and spot the subtle difference between them because they do seem alike in a sentence.

Finishing all the parts, the teacher asked us to try to follow her pronouncing those words for conversation practice by listening.

3. Points to remember from week 2!

- The vocab, nouns and grammar rules.

- Start practicing and uttering common words used in daily conversation

4. Your feelings & thoughts

Every week, the level is getting harder and harder as we are embracing and trying to understand the new language. It is mind-challenging to try to memorize those numerous, new nouns and words but the feeling after managing to do so is beyond words.

5. 1 good thing from what you did that you can practice now!

Always refer to the teacher and take her piece of advice to always keep speaking those words again and again until it sticks in mind and to remember all words.

6. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

If I were to happen to forget these things that I have just learnt, I would always just refer to the learning materials provided by our teacher and playback the recorded meeting during the previous class.

7. 2 words to describe elective posting progress so far

Confusing, amusing

8. Your plan for next week (Week 3)

Hopefully for the next week, I am able to already memorize all the things that I have ever gone through and can start constructing sentences, words by words and not forgetting it before the new lessons of vocabulary start.

Automate the Boring Stuff with Python

Abdul Hakim bin Mohd Nor (A168290)
A168290
3 August 2021 - 12 August 2021

1. How is my progress?

For this week, I started to go through the second part of the course which is to automate tasks, considering it is quite hefty and long. From the first part, I learned how to do pattern matching, which allows for searching of a certain pattern of text/numbers among a long list of text. The course had provided us with the necessary test materials for me to try for myself and it’s certainly a very convenient tool which can save time! Other than that, I also learned about file paths and folders, and also how to read plain texts and binary files.

2. Points to remember from week 2

- In pattern matching, regular expression should be used as it is more sophisticated for handling more complicated instructions

- The values ‘search()’ should be used to find single matches, ‘findall()’ for all matching instances and ‘sub()’ for find-and-replace substitution of text

3. Your feelings and thoughts

I’m actually getting overwhelmed with how complex some concepts are, and their correlation with mathematics. I’m expecting it will only get more challenging and I’m quite nervous. Honestly, some parts are too difficult for me to comprehend firsthand but it is nonetheless satisfying when everything clicks and I was able to do the tasks that I was meant to do.

4. Good thing from what you did that you can practice now

The main useful skill I gain from this week’s lessons are to reliably extract needed information from a big text file. I don’t know when I’ll need this but it’s going to be sometime in the future.

5. Any difficulties/concerns? How did you cope?

I had difficulties in understanding and recalling some terms that were from the previous week and also new terms that were tossed in. Also with how technical and precise the codes can be, even small mistakes caused the command to not work so I had to redo it multiple times.

6. 2 words to describe elective posting progress so far

Confusing, challenging

7. Your plan for next week

I plan to proceed to the other automation part of the module
