Like every year, on the first Sunday of the Fiestas de la Magdalena, Castellón celebrates its traditional “Romeria de les Canyes”. An act that brings together thousands of people from Castellón to go up to the hermitage of La Magdalena and commemorate the origins of the city.
The Hermitage of La Magdalena is one of the main hallmarks of Castellón's identity and also one of the most important in the Valencian lands. It is located on the hill of its name about 5 km from the capital, next to the ruins of Castell Vell or Castell de Fadrell,
