https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1LSSuBjvKw

Corrective Action, as the video and the book define, is bring organizational standards up to par by correcting the problem that is causing the standards to not be met. At my job we have standards that we measure employees with. When these standards are not being met I have to meet with the corresponding individual and pursue corrective action to make sure that the standard is being met moving forward. Seeing examples and reading about the definition will help me to make sure I am pursuing corrective action in the right manner.

Personal Power

In the workplace there is position power and personal power. Positional power is power that one has only because of the job position that they have. Personal power is formed from the relationships that a leader has with his or her direct reports. I have had to learn to build personal power by having appropriate work relationships with my direct reports to gain their trust and respect by choice not only by position. The differentiation between the two has helped me to identify what I need to work on.

Productivity is an important factor of the day to day tasks that managers have to consider. Is the outcome sufficient based on how much work is being put in? Is labor too high or production to low? Corrective action may need to take place to make sure that business is being conducted efficiently. At work I must ensure that everyone in my team is being productive with their time and meeting their goals.

No matter what field you may find yourself in, quality control is almost always evident. There must be quality control to ensure that the recipients of a product or service are getting what your company was established to give them. At my company we have mystery shoppers to evaluate that the service we provide is sufficient to meet and exceed the needs of our members.
