For this project I decided on interviewing my grandpa George Miyagi on his time spent in the United States Internment Camps for the Japanese during World War 2. Before this, I had talked to he briefly from time to time about this important part of his life but never quite this im depth, and certainly not these questions. Some things he mentions such as first leaving for the camps and the people he brings up in the end still surprise me. I think it's amazing that my grandfather lived through this bad time in American history and I'm really glad he's still able to share his story with me, so I get to hear it, but so can my kids and hopefully their kids too.
