To learn is to question what you know and expand your beliefs. When it comes to teaching, what our students learn is more important than the teaching itself. Having the passion to teach others is something that I am so thankful to God for. I know that the passion comes from Him and it is such an honor. Teaching is important because without it, we would not have an education or education in general. That being said, I believe that there is a lot of pressure in teaching and on teachers themselves because so many children and/or adults depend on teachers to learn.

I believe the purpose of schooling is to empower young minds. The purpose of schooling is to provide a safe space for all children to be themselves without feeling alone and/or scared. School should be a positive environment that has a balance of learning and community. Schooling is the basis of our lives because without education, we would not know nearly as much as we know today.  I believe being a teacher-activist is advocating for your students' lives both inside and outside of school while also advocating for social change and social action at the same time.
