The Divine Command theory: Robert Adams

'the modified divine command theory'
this starts by saying that X is wrong because God commanded that X is wrong this means that God commands moral truths
the Euthyphro Dilemma criticises the Divine Command Theory because what happens if God commands X then it is human logic to say that it is immoral. if an immoral act was commanded by God then how do we know that we are doing the right thing. Adams says that it is logically possible for the actions that God commands to be morally wrong, HOWEVER it is not in God's nature to be cruel; he is all loving thus he would never do that to humanity.
Adams proposes that and action is always immorally wrong if and only if it defies a loving God. If cruelty is commanded then he wouldn't be loving, in that instance God would not have to be obeyed.

Pluralism of objection is saying that there are so many religions who say different things how do we choose which religion to follow? it is impossible to know which religion is the correct one.
