         <description><![CDATA[<p>South Carolina was affected because after the war in fort Sumter when it ended in December 1862 There Governor Francis W Pickens was in a lot of debt. South Carolina was really close to loosing the first war so they used a lot of there really strong supplies. What made the General go into debt was spending all the money on the troops and supplies for the war.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Battle took place on April 12-14 1861 In South Carolina . The Confederate were trying to strengthen the forts and shore batteries targeted at Sumter. The Union on the other hand were trying to win Fort Sumter over the Confederates. The Confederates won the battle. This battle was important because it was the first battle that happened during the war. </p>]]></description>
