Today, the media seems to be obsessed with violence. The more cruelty and sadness revolve around a story, the more people follow it. Clearly, tragic elements are present within each and every story of violence. We all remember the assiduous actor, Robin Williams, as one of the most affable, and possibly the most iconic, characters of our childhood. We remember the venerated actor making us smile and laugh. However, while he was busy making the entire world happy, he was intrepidly battling a dark disease, depression. Years after his death, Williams is still a very venerated actor world-wide. Robin Williams's death was so shocking and intriguing to the public because of the mere irony and presence of tragic elements in the story.

The virtuoso actor; Robin Williams, was overcome by depression. Depression is a toxic disease that leads to not wanting to leave anymore. While Robin was making all of the people smile, he was battling with this disease leading him to commit the reprehensible action of killing himself. His death surprised many people around the world since he was seen by everyone like a facetious character and no one could imagine how bad he was living. Robin Williams can be compared to Hamlet since both of this characters are depressed and they both end up dying. Robin dies killing himself and Hamlet was killed while he was seeking revenge. They are both transitory characters, which live for a short period of term due to the fact that they end their life by making the bad decision of ending it.

He doesn't want to keep on living since he is depressed from his uncle killing his dad and marrying his mother. He is scared since he doesn't know what will happen after Death. Robin Williams is similar to Hamlet due to the fact that he killed himself from depression.

Robin William was a famous comedian and actor. He suffered with depression through the years, however that didn't stop him from making others smile. “Smile boy, it's the sunrise (His last movie line, ever)” ― Robin Williams. He eventually became on of the America’s funniest performer. “I think the saddest people always try their hardest to make people happy because they know what it’s like to feel absolutely worthless and they don’t want anyone else to feel like that.” ― Robin Williams. As William mentioned, his way of fighting with depression is by making others people smile. Hamlet in the play ‘Hamlet’ by Shakespeare shows how depression changes his life and the different decisions he makes over time. Unlike Williams, the way Hamlet fights against depression is by getting revenge of his fathers death. “GERTRUDE: What wilt thou do? Thou wilt not murder me? Help, help, ho! POLONIUS: (from behind the arras) What, ho? Help, help, help! HAMLET: How now, a rat? Dead for a ducat, dead! (Act 3, Scene 4). During this scene he can see Hamlet kills Polonius due to the fact that he is in Claudius side that killed his father. He gets revenge due to his depression and madness against Claudius. Hamlet, such as Robin Williams fights over depression to have a good life.
