Hungarian-Argentine journalist and inventor Ladislao José Biro (1899-1985) invented the ballpoint pen, also known in Argentina as "birome", in the 1940s. Biro patented the ballpoint pen in Buenos Aires in 1943 and his invention revolutionized the way write. The pen allowed you to write faster and more efficiently, without ink stains or the need to constantly refill the pen. Biro was inspired to invent the pen after watching some children playing and getting tired of pens. His goal was to prevent left-handed people from smearing the pages, so he designed a ball that spread the color as needed.
