On September 23rd, 2025 at 10:00 AM, 2 of the mothers of 3 of our youths from the Cicero Area Project received a Certificate of Completion for becoming new citizens. President Larry Dominick wanted to give them this recognition for applying with u.s.and for diligently attending the classes. In addition to the 2 mothers of our youths, this certificate was also given to other parents who also became US citizens. All belong to the City of Cicero IL.

On September 29th, 2025 at 4:00pm, Emma and George participated in an attendance

recognition event for all programs offered by the Cicero Area Project. In this event, the youth participated in plays, games and had a lot of fun.

The prayer vigil

On October 23rd at 5pm the community of cicero including the youth of cicero are project had a vigil to pray for the families that have been victims of ice, the vigil was led by the president of cicero Larry Dominick.

On November 23rd, 2025, at 10:00 AM, the Cicero Area Project Youth group organized to distribute "Baskets of Love" in the community. This aid was very helpful in community as there has been an economic crisis due to the raids that have affected many families. The families were very happy to receive this support for Thanksgiving Day, and for a few more days, as they included many things. The activity ended at 3:00pm.

3 kings day celebration

On January 6th at 5:00pm Frank Aguilar had a 3 kings day celebration and toy drive, Emma and some of the cicero area project committee members and some of the youth members went to support Frank. Frank had the rosca which is a sweet bread that represents a kings crown that is a mile long, there was also hot chocolate for the people that went to have and enjoy while their kids got toys, the residents of Lyons really enjoyed this event. The activity ended at 7:00pm.

Valentines day

On February 11th at 4:00 pm Emma and members of the board of directors of Cicero Area Project held a party for all the young people who belong to the Organization. Cicero Area Project Celebrated Valentine's Day with the young people. To make the Celebration more pleasant, the hall was decorated with balloons and ornaments, and pizzas, sodas and snacks were distributed. They had games as well It ended at 6:00pm.

On February 19th, 2026, at 3:00 pm, Emma and members of the Cicero Area Project Organization participated in the activity of the "Cicero Community Center "Healthy Heart Fair" The young people of the Organization made flyers where the services of the Cicero Area Project were offered. At the event, Emma spoke with parents of adolescents, to whom it was explained that we had a youth group to teach them how to channel their energy into productive tasks, develop Leadership, foster values, and promote citizen participation, cultural activities, volunteering, with workshops and meetings where they participate with their ideas.

On May 16, 2026, Cicero Area Project youth participated in a community Clean-Up Day in Cicero, IL alongside CVS worker Emma Marin and Board Member Rosalinda Ramos. The activity focused on environmental awareness, community pride, and civic engagement. Youth learned about the impact of litter on neighborhoods and wildlife while developing teamwork, leadership, and cooperation skills. Participants received cleaning supplies, T-shirts, and sunglasses before working together to help beautify the community. The event concluded with lunch and snacks, leaving youth with a greater appreciation for protecting their environment and serving their community.

Peaceful March Against Guns

On June 25, 2026, youth from both Cicero Area Project groups came together for a Peaceful March Against Gun Violence in Cicero. Alongside community members and the Cicero Police Department, participants carried signs promoting peace and calling for a safer future for all youth.

The march provided an opportunity for young people to raise awareness about the impact of gun violence, advocate for positive change, and demonstrate their commitment to building a stronger and safer community. Through their participation, youth showed leadership, civic engagement, and a dedication to promoting a culture of peace.

Celebrating Community, Peace, & Freedom

National Night Out – Community Outreach & Engagement

On August 4, 2026, CAP youth and staff participated in National Night Out in Cicero. The event provided an opportunity to connect with community members, local police, and other organizations while promoting CAP’s programs and resources.

Youth helped distribute flyers, speak with other young people about the program, and encourage community involvement. CAP staff also shared information about available workshops and resources. As a result of the outreach, two new youth registered to become involved with the organization.

This activity supported CAP’s objective of Community Outreach and Engagement by increasing awareness of CAP services, strengthening community relationships, and encouraging youth participation.

Youth Night at Ravinia Festival

Our youth had an exciting evening at the Ravinia Festival, where they enjoyed live music, spent quality time with friends and family, and participated in fun activities while waiting for the concert to begin. The outing gave youth an opportunity to socialize in a positive environment, connect with others, and enjoy a safe recreational experience outside of the regular program setting.
