When you download the gradebook, you can add a column and use the function =COUNT(-insert TOD cells here) and it will return the number of cells with TOD grades. It's a little faster and easier than the method in the recording, then you can filter the students who have 5 or more done. Making transferring the score in your grade easier. And if you do the Mail Merge Progress reports, you can now help students track their TOD progress.

I also think it is important to remember that many of our students have ADHD or other sensory issues. "Busy" slides and/or slides with lots of texts can be overwhelming. Slides with less text and more blank space can be calming to students with anxiety issues as well...too much to read or focus on can cause them to shut down.

I figure if looking at something makes my head spin or is confusing to me, it will be much worse for my students.

I am getting a lot more participation since doing so. It working so far for the engagement piece of the class. We also had a big talk today about "I can't" statements and we have turned them into "I can" the beginning of each class. I was so pleased to see their responses and again it fostered more engagement.
