This is my first bottled garden. It is home to a fittonia plant and a few ants. I am planning to make a second bottled garden as the plant is too big for my bottle and I forgot to trim it. As you can see, there are some water droplets forming on the side of the bottle.
(All plants, soil and bottle is from IKEA)

after a few days, I don't know how, but one of my bottled gardens had flies in it. It must have been the eggs in the soil, as I had sealed it tightly. At least I have a second one. ( I intend to keep the pest- infested one as I want to see how long it can survive, I will throw it away soon) Same as Jie Hong, there are water droplets on the side

1-5pm is the time when most water droplets formed at the side of my bottle. AKA rains a lot.

My bottled garden is extra foggy like tropical jungle, probably because I watered it too much. But as the picture shows, the plants are still alive!!!

It houses;
1. A bunch of money plants (top left of picture)
2. An unknown plant with red markings on leaves (pictured)
3. Another unknown plant with white markings on its leaves (right of picture)
4. Multiple cool multicoloured pebbles (everywhere)
5. Rare water babies, mostly pink-orange-purple-colour-shifting, blue and yellow (none pictured ... I think)

For some reason there is a lot of rain at two parts. There are a lot of plants there, but there are also a lot of plants at one more spot. However, that spot rains the least. Very interesting...

Day 2 of my terrarium, water vapour is getting increasingly obvious on the side of the container walls and raindrops have begun to form on the top of the container. It is starting its first primary rainy season.

Terrarium very foggy and I can't even see the plant from outside. Somehow 2 of the leaves fell off my succulent and the rest look juicy but a bit yellow.

Day 4 of my terrarium, the inner walls of my terrarium are really foggy. Now they are the foggiest they have ever been. It is very hard to see the plants now. My plants are still thriving though.

Day 5 of my terrarium, there is not much rain now as there was really heavy rainfall in real life, which made the air very cold and it interrupted the raining cycle of the terrarium and caused it to rain early in the terrarium so there is barely any rain left.

Somehow there's condensation both inside and outside of my bottle. I had to open the bottle (sad) to trim the dying parts of the plant and remove the ants. The ants kept eating the stem and caused parts of my plants to become yellow. Although there are still ants now, they are a different species and seem quite happy eating the fallen leaves :P

Terrarium seems fine, though I will have to get some time out of my schedule to remove the dead leaves. For some reason, this thing rains permanently (either that or it doesn't rain at night, which is the only time I don't observe it). Temperature inside would be estimated at an approximate 25 degrees, which is aircon weather for those airplants. And if I make a fatal mistake on whether they flower or they dont, I wish myself good luck.
So, time to stop staring at dying leaves. Hey, pass me that scissors, would you? And that face mask... (fair warning lace thanks for it)

My vegeterian meal da pao--i mean bottled garden has become disturbingly foggy. Can't even see whats happening inside as the cover is completely fogged up and the "bottle" is the same thing as the takeaway box for fast lane stall. I got it for 20 cents at the noodle stall. Should I open up and see what's happening inside?

Day 7 of my terrarium, my plants are still not dead. However, it looks like it is running out of water, I think I will have to re-water it in a few weeks.

On day 7, I found an earthworm in the soil of the terrarium! When I took the plant out to trim it and put more soil in, it turned out that the soil I ~~dug from the ground~~ borrowed had earthworms in it! Sadly, I have no photos of them.

On day 8, it started raining outside again. A new water cycle also started as water droplets started dripping down (there were 3 humongous water droplets on the lid.) The ants also drank the water from the sides and the pebble "reservoir" where the water is collecting. They attempted to escape by climbing up to the lid but it was too slippery and steep with water and they mostly failed (anyway the lid is closed so L ants)

On day 9, the ants started multiplying. They ate all the dead leaves on the ground. To prevent the ants from eating my plant, I baited the ants out of the bottled garden with some biscuits. I also placed some leaves from the trimmed (and now dead) parts of the plant. Hopefully they dont eat my plant again. They appear to also have made a nest inside as they often disappear into the soil. Also it rained outside again (why?????????????????)

(Edit: DAY 9½ UPDATE! I was getting fed up with the ants trying to eat my plant, so I shook my bottle around gently to bury the ants and their nest. I also sprayed copious amounts of dihydrogen monoxide (photo above about toxicity dhmo.org) into the jar to hopefully kill the ants. I know that 100% of people who have dihydrogen monoxide in their system die, so I am sure the ants will die ~~eventually~~.)

(Update 2: The ants didn't die, so I put my bottle garden into the freezer. (I took it out after 5 minutes) Most of the ants died, so I guess mission accomplished. :) The plants don't seem to be damaged tho)

TL;DR: ants not ded, plant almost ded

Sadly, the ants have not died. They continue eating the dead leaves and attacking my plant. Strangely, my plant appears to be brown near the edges, much like the leaves have been burnt. I am thinking of introducing some spiders or small lizards if I can find them so they can eat the ants and then removing them after their job is done.

I think its cause it drowned due to a Jace flash flood (overwatering)

cause when i removed the ded plant it felt reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaally soggy and the stalk was a piece of string

TL;DR: plant commits die because water intoxication :(

So yeah

I tried to remove their food so they die
but the food was mouldy and was half buried by the rock (the one made of minerals, not the human)
The ants froze and didn't dieded
Then I froze the ants again and they dieded
The water froze so mini ice age for like 2 hours
And then mini heat wave for 1 hour as I put it under the sun

Outcome: plANT survived
ANT diedesedeathdedediededed

Oh and the humongous drops of water came back (there were 4 of them)
3 water cycles

OBTW I rescued a bird that flew into a fan but it dieded today :( f for bird in chat

Both my plants have dieded due to over watering and root rot... When I uprooted them the roots were nonexistent. Also soil is actually Nutella as we all can see.

Day 19 of my bottled garden, a dead leaf has appeared in the bottle

The prime suspects 4 this murder is the green plant next to side, green plant in the middle, the big pink and green plant and the cat

After much intense interrogation with the suspects(0 hours) and investigation, I can conclude that the murderer is the plant next to side. Death cause is the leaf got some disease and stuff and the plant abandoned it and it could not survive on its own so it dieded.

The orbeez still not minimum size😅

On the 6th of April, I said that all my plants were dead. But I didn't throw the terrarium away due to something I call "intelligence" but others call... STOOPID
I actually threw in a few seeds when I was making my terrarium which I had traded and one of them have grown... but now its dead.

Ok so it has been 1 month (kinda) officially (YAY)

and mega water droplets keep appearing (inside and outside)
Also plant population increased by 3, there are 3 tiny sprouts growing at the sides, not sure if they are also fittonia or some random spore or seed (hope it spore) in the soil
The dead leaves have started decomposing at the bottom, theres some brownish black semi-solid substance where they used to be and more earthworms can be seenn
Also no condensation is happening on the sides (good or bad?????????)
I followed what Emmanuel said (thx for da advice) and the ants are forever gone :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) tho the bottom of the terrarium (the pebbles) are completely flodded which is ok i guess since my plant appears to be drying up

The mystery plant is half the height of the fittonia now!
There is regular formation of water droplets outside the bottle now. There is also a few giant water droplets every day. Water droplets can be observed on the leaves of da mystery plant and fittonia.
There are also much smaller insects inside, not ants or termites
they appear to be yellowish and can crawl
also there are so many earthworms and even a few transparent ones climbing on the glass of my terrarium.
So far they havent touched my plant but im sure they will soon :(

8 days from 2 months anniversary!
Some moss have appeared where the black ~~sticky~~ substance used to be (where the dead leaves used to be). They are also growing on the pebbles.
The mysterious plant seems to have reached its maximum height and the leaves on the fittonia are decomposing WHILE STILL CONNECTED TO THE PLANT. (imagine your arms decomposing while still on you) Most of them are healthy though.
That's all I observed

Moss is appearing on the glass and it is rapidly growing, my fittonia has some parts of the stem half chewed off (i think) (or scorched) (or dead) and the leaves on some branches have turned upside down.

good news:
yess, finally! it is the 2 month anniversary of the terrarium

bad news:
there are ants and white bugs in the terrarium and im not sure what kind or relationship they have(predator prey, parasitic, mutualistic, commensalistic etc...)

good news 2:
I opened the lid a little bit, smelled it, and it still smells alive and like plants(no rotting stench)

i got a new bottle garden
just did it yesterday
wanted to do new plants, so i ~~plucked~~ ~~removed~~ permanently borrowed some plants from the side of the pavement (the plants at the left and top right)
my other fittonia parts from the ~~hair~~ leafcut on day 5 were dying and dropping a lot of leaves (no not the one that heals you and drops from centipedes) so i put them in the bottle
hope they are good
also there are worms and ants inside !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111!!11!!!1!111!

(p.s. my new terrarium is 69 days younger than my 1st terrarium nice)

also the new terrarium is growing, the plants are getting too tall and thin and overcrowded.

there are a few baby snails in my new terrarium, and the earthworms are multiplying! the ants seem to be gone for now and the plants are growing thicker stems slowly. the baby snails can move around, and their antennae (see above image) are also half grown

the two leaves are confirmed plants and they have grown bigger. Also there are some very normal terrarium stuff going on like plants growing roots in the air, random bits of plant mysteriously appearing at the top of the terrarium, a spider appearing, mould growing and some more ants. The plants have finally ~~mined~~ grew roots past the soil into the rocks.

I made another bottle garden and I used a used sauce jar, a rock from school and some fern that I ~~stole permanently borrowed kidnapped abducted~~ asked nicely if they wanted to relocate from the side of the road. Basically the entire thing is free. Oh and I made it on 6/9/23 noice.
