This giant boy is the alpha male of the school, and you’re the new dog, so he pushed you around a bit to see how tough you are.” - I agree with Junior's grandmother on this because it is true. People want to see what you are capable before messing with you.

“Yeah, but you punched the alpha dog in the face,” she said. “They’re going to respect you now.” - I don't necessarily think that Junior's grandma is right in this scenario. I don't think the guys will "respect" Junior, more so be afraid and hesitant.
