I think as a teacher I have many layers and as the students and myself grow our relationship I peel back a new layer and let them in a little more. I make sure that I remain friendly without overstepping and this layered approach helps with that.
Kirstyn

I feel that I am the energetic but motherly figure type of teacher. I like to uplift the mood of the class and ensure children have fun but appropriately and respectfully. My Mentor Teacher has mentioned to me that I show enthusiasm during my teaching practise because of my age and I bring 'life' to my lessons. I resonate with Miss Honey from Matilda. I have been told I am quite similar to her because she has a warm, kind voice and builds strong relationships with the children in her class. - Piper

I think this sums up my thoughts on the Gibbs reading.
I feel like I have the beginnings of good self efficacy- a bit of empathy, a bit of genuine relationship, a desire to include parents, desire to collaborate, the hope of being able to innovate in learning, and a good dash of bravado to want to attempt it all!
But I'm only a wee Padawan yet- I haven't yet come across a challenge that knocks my confidence. I don't yet know how long it will take me to get up.
I hope, with the support those around me who love me- and those who want the best for me as well- that I will have just enough efficacy to pull me through!
Here's my unrealistic goal to finish off... that in time I will attain transcendence and just be awesome in the face of anything! Or at the very least, half way there! ;)
Ruthie.D

I like to see them feel good about themselves, which makes them all want to continue to learn. When my VTE came to see me during practicum, he said I needed to find the range of tone that my voice has as I mostly use a clear but calming tone. I like to remain calm around the students so as not to excite them too much. I also like to create good relationships with my students which are vital to their learning.

As a parent and with my previous work experience in schools, I know that children hate it when they believe that something is unfair.

At the moment my teaching identify would align with my teaching journey so far which has resulted in providing a lot of emotional support for the learners while being flexible. I have relied on my emotional values such as nurturing, patience and empathy to name a few. On the other hand, I have remained consistent and fair while ensuring I am still approachable. I have further developed the joy of flexibility, having fun, taking changes at teaching something new as well as making mistakes and taking the positives from them. With this being said, I believe my teacher identify currently has a strong nurturing instinct. I genuinely want the best for my learners and to see them succeed, therefore investing a lot of time and energy when helping them.
Crystal

Although some of my lessons did not go as I planned they would I did not gove up and instead used the information I gathered from that lesson to put into my next one to ensure it was better and more effective. I feel that going forward I will encourage my students to show resilience in everything they do whether that be inside or outside of the classroom. There is the element of 'have/have not' of High self-efficacy.
As a teacher candidate, am I expected to Identify with one of them?
