         <description><![CDATA[<div>Case 1: Student who is selectively mute:<br>- White board activities<br>- Group/collaborative activities:<br>  - one person writes down/one shares, etc. <br>- Gallery walk activities<br>- Activities with some form of anonymity, allows students to share ideas without social consequences. <br><br>Case 2: Student with boundary issues:<br>- Opportunities to burn some energy. <br>- Activities that encourage awareness of personal space, with some sort of incentive to respect it. <br>- Educational video on germ spread through touch. <br>-Intervention model.<br><br>Case 3: Student hates the subject, will not participate in class. Hits outcomes but not motivated. Poor self-talk:<br>- Positive reinforcement does not seem to be effective.<br>- Taking student out of options to complete work<br>- What is the student seeking? If not positive reinforcement...<br>- Continue with positive reinforcement, don't respond to negative self-talk. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Case 1: Student who is incredibly defiant and being mean to me and other kids<br>-Using literature and class work to develop empathy <br>-Highly positively reinforcing him when he does work <br>-Using classroom management strategy to have other students keep him accountable <br>-Possibility of phoning home <br>-Using things he is interested in to build relationships with him and get him engaged <br>-Told him once he showed me he could do Grade 1 work he could try the harder Grade 2 work but he has to show me his best Grade 1 work <br><br>Case 2: Chatty groups of students and not talking about course related things<br>-Moving students in different seating plan <br>-Using phones as a tool to learn <br>-Continuing to try and build relationships even with huge restrictions on how you can teach <br>-Lowering entry point for course content <br>-Scaffolding knowledge and lessons</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Case study 1: Science discovery centers are not working due to classroom management issues.<br>- increase modelling of routines in centers (I do, we do, you do)<br>- find a balance between exploration and instruction (guiding vs. intervention model) <br>- gallery walk on centers<br>- positive reinforcement <br><br>Case Study 2: Totally checked out students, do not care about school at all.<br>- try to relate the material to their interests.<br>- use their peers to get them involved- peers learn better from their peers (social dynamic)<br>- is this COVID related?<br>- sit down, face to face meeting with parents done, but did not help<br>- celebrating small/any successes <br>- positive<br>- games, make it more entertaining<br><br>Case Study 3: general quietness, lack of engagement and participation from majority of students<br>- calling on specific students<br>- using classroom persona to deflect the worry of looking foolish ex. act "goofy" and increase the overall class energy<br>- find out topics that could be used to bring them out of their shells- lighten the atmosphere<br><br></div>]]></description>
