Coronation day is a national holiday, and is on May 5. Another national holiday is Songkran which is on April 13 (which is my birthday), and they have water fights all day long.

Traditional Thai house are built on stilts to keep flood waters out, and make the house cooler at night. Many Thai eat boiled rice with chicken or pork for breakfast, and that meal is sometimes called sticky rice.

Children ages 3-5 go to anubon school to learn basic manners and children ages 6-8 go to prathom school which is like elementary school. Children ages 9-11 also go to prathom school.

They can be decorated with gold, jewels and carvings. Thai literature is based off traditional stories, and many Thai people paint pictures of nature. Many people in Thailand make carvings and statues of Buddha, and many people also do basket weaving.

Each dance has different instruments that are played for the music. A Khim is a traditional Thai instrument where you hit brass strings with a mallet, a Saw Sam Sai is also a traditional Thai instrument and has three strings and is like a fiddle.

When Thai people get married, the groom must be accepted by the entire family, and Monks come by the morning of the wedding to bless the bride. The traditional Thai wedding dress is pink, and the groom most likely wears a western style suit.

Most Thai people have one to two children, but sometimes many families live in the same house.
