Soil, soil is what grows your plants and creates homes for animals. It is the surface of the earth. Everywhere you go soil is there. It a table spoon of soil there are more microbes than all the humans on earth.
Weathering, weathering is a type of change that happens to rocks and landforms. For example weathering can break large rocks apart, maybe by water seeping into cracks and freezing. Some other weathering can be caused by chemical and physical change. Chemical change is when that material reacts with acid. Physical change is caused by aging, when a material such as rock gets older it start to way away.

Soil is very important for plants and trees. I had an aloe plant at my home ,and it was dying. I removed from the pot and I bought some organic soil and a new pot. I prepared the pot with the soil and I plant the aloe by adding water, and I left it outside in the sun. Now the plant is growing healthy and strong. It’s very important what kind of soil do you use because soil is very important for plants to grow. Without soil we don’t grow fruits and vegetables.

Evelyn

Hi! I was working with soil today! I used a paper plate and a stirring stick so I could see in it! Here’s what I found: a few very small rocks, sticks and a few leaves, and not one but two worms! I did this experiment twice and both times I found a worm! This was super fun! One of the worms was caught on camera but the other wasn’t. Sadly the video I made was to long so I couldn’t put it on Padlet.

Weathering is an important part of nature because without rocks breaking down and turning into sand, we wouldn’t have beaches because the sand is an important part of a beach. Weathering is also important because if the rocks wouldn’t break down we would see big boulders all the time and then there would be no small rocks to play hopscotch with, or do art with, and the big boulders would probably be in everyone’s way.

Soil is an important part of nature because without it plants can’t grow, and if plants can’t grow, then there is no food. Vegetables and fruits are a big part of our diet and if they stop growing we would have to live off of mostly sugar, and meat and not everybody can eat that stuff also if we lived off of meat the animals would be dying so they can’t produce things if they die. Another reason soil is important is because we need ground without it we would be falling all the time and house would be falling endlessly 24/7 and there would be endless deaths because we need something under our feet to keep our feet on the ground and you might be thinking but what about grass? Grass wouldn’t be a thing because it grows from soil.
