         <description><![CDATA[<div>If bitten by or come into contact with  an animal that might have rabies, the safest option is to clean the wound thoroughly with soap and water.  If you can catch the animal, medical professionals can determine if it had rabies.  If not, the rabies vaccine can prevent the exposed person from contracting the virus.  These vaccines need to begin before symptoms occur.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The only way to prove an animal was infected with Rabies lyssavirus is to do an autopsy of the animal's brain.  The animal must be euthanized in order for this to occur.  However, there are signs and symptoms to look for in the animals.  They include changes in behavior, hydrophobia, and extreme salivation. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Unfortunately, there is no cure for rabies.  Preventative measures are the only source of treatment. Once symptoms begin, there is no cure for the infected person.   <br>Preventative measures include avoiding wild animals, not provoking animals that have unusual behavior, immediately contacting a doctor to take appropriate measures quickly. </div>]]></description>
