The Artifact Reflection -

The children's objective is to choose two cars that, when added together, match the number on top of the garage. The goal is to fill the garage with the correct sum. The game is intended for players ages seven and older. Children will use cars with numbers to solve addition problems in this game.

From this game, I learned that there are many ways that children can play; it doesn't just need to be addition; it can also be subtraction, and more players can play instead of two.

I plan to use this in a small group with at least four children at a time, so I can observe them with their math and see their growth in using their fine motor skills.

Artifact Reflection: Butterfly Thematic Unit

In this butterfly thematic unit, the goal was for children to develop different vocabulary related to the body parts of a butterfly. They gather information and learn through reading books, labeling the butterfly's body parts, and understanding the purpose of having butterflies.

In this lesson, I learned that students learn about growth, change, and the stages of life by observing the butterfly's life cycle. This teaches them concepts like metamorphosis, patience, and the beauty of transformation in nature. We can do math lessons with the students to develop their cognitive development and literacy, which will lead to a deeper understanding of the butterfly's cycle.

I intend to carry this into the classroom by providing a catapult and having the students track its process.

Artifact Reflection:

A preschool routine is a structured daily plan that helps young children know what to expect throughout the day for example when it's time to arrive, play, eat, learn, or rest which helps them feel safe, and builds trust in their environment. It also helps their learning by creating consistent opportunities for developing skills, encourages independence as they begin to manage simple tasks on their own, and teaches habits like following directions, taking turns, and transitioning from one activity to another.

In this reflection, I will go over the importance of having a schedule and routine at the center, which is essential because it helps children feel safe, secure, and confident.

When children know what to expect, they can better manage transitions and understand the structure of their day. It also encourages independence as children learn to follow daily patterns, such as cleaning up, washing hands, or preparing for nap time. A consistent schedule supports learning by setting aside time for activities like circle time, play, meals, and rest, which helps children develop time management and self-regulation skills. You create a stable and supportive environment.

I learned the importance to have a schedule and routine especially for childrens that might not have that at home i can provide that stability and secure for them.

This hands-on activity allowed them to stay focused while also exploring the structure of a butterfly in a fun way.

I learn the importance of providing activities for children where they are able you use their fine motor skill and as they use the also build social skills with teachers and peers.

I will use this lesson plan with small groups to observe students using their fine motor skills and assess them at the same time. And also have the opportunity to use the proper vocabulary to identify the parts of the butterfly.
