This vivid image describes perfectly what the "monte" looks like described as by Ernesto ."the pines ,the huge umbrellas of the elms and the shaggy cedars were the tallest things in the world". This image also shows the point of view of barrio boy & the landscapes where he lived, the type of forests and things he saw when he went to the "monte".The Monte was the most sacred & safest place on jalcocotan , Ernesto felt very safe there .

This second image describes the "pueblo" as described by Ernesto in the book,"Our pueblo was too high up the mountain, the connecting trails were too steep and narrow.. ". Barrio boy's point of view is described by being giving us a vivid image of what he sees ,What goes on in his pueblo through his eyes. The words he uses show that His pueblo is like his comfortable zone ,His use of words demonstrate who he is and How his life is in jalcocotan.

This image describes the way the chapel is described by Ernesto. "jalcocoteanos with serious matter to lay before their saints or the virgin of guadalupe", The way the story is described in his point of view makes it easy for us to understand how he feels about his town's chapel .The way Barrio boy talks about the Chapel expresses the way he and all the other "jalcocoteanos "feel towards the chapel. They believe it is very important and sacred to go and pray to their saints or the virgin of guadalupe.
