My Eminent Australia is Florence Violet McKenzie. She was born in Melbourne, Victoria, on the 28th Of September 1890. In 1924 she married Cecil Roland McKenzie. Florence founded the EAW (Electrical Association for Women) Australia and the WESC (Women’s Emergency Signalling Corps). McKenzie taught over 15,000 people at the WESC. Florence also worked as an electrical engineer. All of her work was done voluntarily, and it was all done during World War Two (1939 - 1945) when supplies were short. She died due to natural causes on the 23rd Of May 1982. Her body was cremated.
