Ale - Opposition to the new constitution in comparison to the Constitution of New York in terms of power balance. comparisons to how Greece and Rome were strong due to their strict and defined balance of powers, therefore they believe we should also define our balance of power. It is believe that is we adopt pre- existing state constitutions and their credible representatives that we can assume the outcome is just. But allowing state constitutions to be considered is a privilege, not a right and can be easily taken away. But being a state ran country runs risk of a weak government (much like the AOC). No power should be above the sate or people without being granted that power by them. no buying or selling land unless under legislature. Checks and balances need to be prominent in law making. Right to assembly State power is weakened slightly due to the fact that all representatives/ judges are bound by federal law. States must abide to demands needed for the greater good such as taxes.

The Federalists wanted the Constitution to give the National Government more power in trade regulations. This would help maintain order within the Union. The Federalists also wanted the government to have one central currency. This would benefit the people because value of money would be the same throughout the United States. The government wanted to give the states some power so that the central government would not infringe on human rights.

The Federalists wanted to adopt the new US Constitution because they thought that the guidelines behind the government in the Articles of Confederation could be changed. The central government was way too weak and it was proven by Shay's Rebellion. The Anti-Federalists wanted stronger individual state government but in that situation, that kind of government doesn't function well, that is why they needed a stronger central government which would be provided by the new Constitution.
