There is an interdependence dynamic in the classroom between teachers and students to meet each others inherent emotional needs.  Jenkins, D 1951 wrote, “He will contribute to the classroom processes in proportion to the amount he is able to get his needs satisfied in the classroom situation.”
This is an unspoken dynamic but also an important one for the individual's happiness and satisfaction in school.

I would place one finger on my lips and raise my other hand. The students that were paying attention would catch on and do the same.
