The Library is now open in the David Hockney Building.

For students wanting to borrow items from the Library we recommend using our Request and Collect service, this allows you to request items before you come into the Library.  You are still welcome to come in to browse the shelves.

On a Friday, when the College is closed, Library Services are delivering support online and by email.


We have two libraries which you can use as a Bradford College student. One is on the second floor of the David Hockney Building (pictured above), and one is on the ground floor of Trinity Green

Library closure over half-term.

With Bradford College Buildings being closed during half-term there will be no access to the Library at the David Hockney Building. All borrowed items have extended due dates to reflect this closure.

Ideally could we request some pagers for the LA's. College already has many agreements of this kind, so I understand; they are widely used in similar and complimentary services to ours. Also technology wise:
Libratone air, Bluetooth ear buds as another idea.
These will link to a phone or other device, feeding the codes and information through and then transmit. I would invest in these myself, as that would be a nice way to work, day to day. They were originally recommended in the Times when I saw them.

The advantage of pager is that the code is visible, holdable and recorded. Whereas the ear buds won't record it necessarily, unless linked to an phone, tablet or something similar. This could be looped in to help everyone of course.
The buds would have a lot of kudos with the students. (VK)

All deliveries are now being directed to InPrint who will check off the order and then bring it to the Reception area at DHB with the rest of the post. The delivery notes have been scanned and emailed to Procurement to find the delivery owner. If Facilities Management know where that owner sits, we have place the item in their office. If not we will contact the member of staff and alert them to a parcel which is on site. These will predominantly be left in the DHB reception and we will organise a parcel collection arrangement as everyone comes back into college.

Library building

There are now a small number of PCs available in the foyer of the Library for those students who may not have computer access otherwise. These are spaced well apart, in line with government advice.

There will also be two multi-functional printers available in this area. You must sanitise your hands before using a computer in this area.
