Discussion Highlights:
- The really big theme here is the theme of growing up and changing. Real world problems start to come into play. Life isn't just fun and games. There is confusion, sorrow, and difficulty. Its not as simple as school.
- One of the major developments we took note of was how Tommy, Ruth, and Kathy are getting a better experience of the Real World. Certainly a much more involved one than what they experienced at Hailsham
- We talked about how Kathy is portrayed as a character that is peculiarly different from all the rest we encounter. This might be due to the fact that it is read from her perspective, but we think that there is a more significant purpose
- We discussed the psychological affect that the release from the comforting environment of Hailsham has had on the minds of the three friends. It seems that they at times become emotionally unstable as a result of the new atmosphere they have come to assimilate

Michael - Even though some very thoughtful topics were brought up there was a certain lack of textual reference for us to look back to and better integrate with the discussion that were being had.

Fabio - I think the book club went really good today. There was much less awkward silence. And I think we were able to talk about a lot more.  

James- The book club had a lot more flowing talkative moments than before. Our group seems to get along a lot better. Kathy is a caretaker of the clones.

The idea of donations becomes a lot more real when they talk about sex and how they need to reproduce.
Kathy sees miss lucy very upset while scribbling and kathy chooses a boy to have sex with
Ruth and tommy split and tommy tells Kathy about conversation he had with Miss Lucy about cloning and that it was a mistake that he was so uncreative.

Meek - We had some, let’s say, insightful looks into the thinking of this society. The way they act due to their ultimate fate and how they should deal with it.
James - I think that we came in unprepared but we could get the conversation together eventually.
