Name: Gellesa M. Canoy

CourseYr.&Sec.: BEEd- 2A

Performance Task No.1

1. What relevance do you see in taking this course in this very unfortunate time of pandemic?

We know that this pandemic has affected not only students and teachers, but the entire nation. But it was not an obstacle to continue my dream and achieve what I want in life. This pandemic has made me even stronger to continue. It's not easy, especially since we only use modules and online classes so that we can learn. Our teachers do everything to make us learn something everyday. This pandemic has not been an obstacle for us to learn, and it is also a test for all of us to see how strong we are to continue in life. In this pandemic, our future educators are shown that there is a lot that can be done to teach and be wise in life, that it will not be a hindrance for us to achieve our dreams, that there is a lot that can be done to teach and learn.

On the first day of my online class, I can tell that I'm struggling. I've reached the point where I'm crying and want to give up, because I don't know how to start and what to do. but because of the people around me, friends and family who gave me a reason to continue, I overcame all that. I can even tell that until now I'm still struggling, but even though it was difficult I learned to continue, and do everything to become a professional teacher one day. To be able to teach and give inspiration to my students, or to people like me who once gave up, but continued in life and became brave to face all the challenges in life.

2. What are the things that you are willing to change or sacrifice to finish this course with good grades?

We know that in order to be successful one day, you must make sacrifices and change what distracts you. So if I do everything just to graduate, even if I haven't slept yet just to do assignments and activities. Sometimes I can handle not eating the whole day because of doing the activity or because of the problem of how to start, because I'm that kind of person who will easily get stressed in small things, I make small problems into big ones, and just want to be alone.

I want to change my attitude and be brave enough to face life's challenges. It's not easy, but I can do it for myself and for my studies. I want to study hard and give everything I can, to be successful and give my family a good future. I am willing to sacrifice my health and even stay at home all day to finish all the work given by the teacher. It wasn't difficult for me because I was used to it from the beginning. I know that I am not the only one who is struggling, but I will keep fighting. I also want to change my mindset, and be brave to face the problems that will come.

3. How will this course help you become a successful teacher (soon)?

Technology continues to increase, technology has affected the way people learn, study, work and communicate. As a future educator, technology helps us to become successful teachers. It can help us teachers to improve our skills, use our skills to be more effective and to be accountable. Technology is not the solution, but just like books and classrooms and blackboards, technological tools can help teachers to improve their skills, to use their skills most effectively. It will also help to facilitate our work and focus on our teaching.

It can also make teachers' jobs a little bit easier so we can focus on our teaching. Technology will help our students to be more active in class, and more willing to learn. Technology really helps our teaching and makes our students more willing to learn because of the things that can be given or shown to our students. As a future educator this will also help me when the time comes to become a successful teacher someday.

4. How do you think CTU will help you fulfill your chosen degree program?

We all know that CTU aims to have a brighter future for the students. I know in my heart that CTU will help me to become a successful teacher. They do everything to have all students have a good future. They give everything to be able to teach and give what we deserve to know and learn. CTU really gave me an opportunity to finish my studies aside from free tuition, but also because they want to give a good future to all students. I know in myself that CTU is the bridge for me to be successful in life because they aim a lot for their students.

At CTU, I believe they strongly give a good relationship to everyone, they motivate us students, and they challenge us to be strong in the future, helping us students by building our skills, knowledge and confidence. I know that CTU focuses on individual student satisfaction and to become successful in the future, that's why I choose CTU because I know that they will help me achieve my dream in life to become a professional teacher someday.

5. What does it mean to be a "scientifically and technologically oriented person"?

The words science and technology can and often are used interchangeably. But the purpose of science is to seek knowledge for its own sake while the purpose of technology is to create products that solve problems and improve human life. In other words, technology is the practical application of science. Being scientifically and technologically oriented humans can help us to make our lifestyle better, and for the betterment of our society. Nowadays technology really affects our lives, it is getting bigger and bigger.

As a human being I need to be oriented in technology, so that I can't be left behind with the growing technology here in the world. Our tasks in life are made easier, we can easily communicate and have a business transaction through online and many more advantages, but on the other hand it also has bad effects, but it depends on how we use it. However, we also need to be proficient in using technology.

6. What changes do you see in yourself after you graduate from this university?

I see myself that when I entered the university I would be different if I left, because this university really helped me to boost my self-confidence, to become strong, to face the problems in life and be independent. As you know, CTU really gave me an opportunity to become a better person. I saw myself matured in everything and I am strong enough to face what life is. In the 4 years I've spent studying I know I can get all of this. I will be a better person and will be successful in life, along with being a good student.

I see myself that University changes me a lot, and I am still developing myself as a person. I can see that I have a lot of changes after graduating from college, if I am an introvert today I know that soon I will learn how to mingle with people, because this school helps me learn how to be with people by giving school activities. By this I do have friends. Way back in my senior high school days, I'd rather be alone, I'm afraid to be with everyone because I don't want to get hurt. I am an emotional person, I don't want to be ignored. Especially when I get close to her/him, I cry even for superficial reasons. So I know that this university will help me to be strong and reduce by being an emotional person.

Activity 1.
Discuss the importance of the following in the teaching and learning process.

1. Flip charts in the classroom can be used to explain a topic, have a question-and-answer session with students, or allow for real-time feedback. Teachers may use flip charts to display important notices, pupil's work, or come together on group brainstorming activities. Flipcharts are important because they are an effective teaching method since the pages are permanent. The pages can be removed and taped on the wall with masking tape for later reference. Also it is easy to use color markers on flipchart pages to color code different parts of the chart.

2. The importance of wall displays is to provide a visual representation of the subject. Students learn better if they simultaneously hear the lesson, read the message, and see an illustration. Also, it is important part of any classroom, as they make the room appear more inviting and create a better laerning environment. Evolving wall displays help students keep track of what they have learned and help them make connections and develop coherency between ideas, tasks and lessons

For example of wall displays, the LetterLand system provides posters to be put on the wall. And the school system engaged consultants who presented the “Learner Centered Teaching Method” which among other things, required all teachers to post certain anchor charts in their classrooms.

3. Chalkboard is the most useful and versatile of the visual aids at the disposal of a history teacher. It would not be wrong to say that the chalkboard is irreplaceable and indispensab. It is a great way to maximize your students ability to learn and retain new information. By writing out key points and drawing helpful illustrations on the chalkboard, students are also able to take better, more accurate notes. It is important because it enables the teacher to make illustrations, modifications and corrections on the spot.

4. Dioramas can be used throughout all levels of education. They pinpoint a moment of learning and show deeper levels of understanding. Deoramas can also be used in real world setting as problem solvers. Dioramas are a fun and creative. They are a way to incorporate craft projects into the understanding of a topic. They allow students to illustrate an academic subject, the plot of a story, or an event in history.

5. Nature tables encourage kids to observe and explore, which fosters not only a deeper connection with nature, but crucial science and reasoning skills that will be used throughout their lives. The purpose of the nature table is for children to observe and explore anything that has been brought from nature into the classroom. There are many aims for the nature table. Encourage children to bring in items of special interest from nature.

Assignment 1.

1. By integrating the abstract to the concrete through physical and visual models. The activities that involve baking, slicing, and selling will likely be done first by younger kids, in my opinion. Pictures of cutting activities could then be used to further enrich the children's reality experiences.

As a teacher who follows Dale's Cone of Experience's pattern, I would initially use the concrete, or Direct Purpose experiences, in which I would let students try to solve an example problem without explaining its principles in detail. Others might disagree with the assumption that responding to it is straightforward.

They would gain more from this experience even if I didn't teach them the ideas.

They learn while completing the task. Then, when it passes through the other bands of the cone, such as the study excursion, role-playing, demonstrations, models and miniatures, and many more, it eventually reaches the final band, which is the word symbol, which is the most abstract. I would finally introduce the subject because I've already taught them the other ideas, and I'd let them read everything there is to know about fractions in this area.

2. It is because, reading only one or two formats may limits our experience and so on with our understanding. Our lecturers advise us against reading only novels and comic books because doing so could prevent us from experiencing the real things that exist in our world. Additionally, reading comics can encourage us to simply experience the things we imagine while we read and prevent us from learning the important lessons we may learn.

In the same way that the things in our minds are based on the things we have sensed in our daily lives, so is the cone of experience that we can't learn something if we haven't experienced it.
