Indeed paragraph two have citations compared to paragraph one but Ms. Dizon's statement used the word 'explanation' which may or may not mean to include the citations, but in all actualities, can equally work. In addition to that, and in overall, it is quite true that the 'explanation' in paragraph two is BROADER than the 'explanation' in paragraph one.

According to the University of Oxford (2022), plagiarism is presenting someone else’s work or ideas as your own, with or without their consent, by incorporating it into your work without full acknowledgement.
As plagiarism is a disciplinary offense, the process of referencing can be considered to avoid such. Referencing allows you to acknowledge the contribution of other writers and researchers in your work (UNSW Sydney, 2019).
With the two paragraphs presented, I believe the more authoritative is Paragraph 2. Because, sentences or contexts are well-cited and well-presented. The contents of the two paragraphs are similar, but, Paragraph 2 is more reliable and trustworthy as its reference is being presented.

The paragraph two are more reliable and trustworthy than the first paragraph. The first paragraph may be as interesting as the second, but within the first paragraph there is a lack, a lack of source of the ideas contained in it and the second paragraph shows where the ideas got contained in it so it passed as authoritative. In addition to that citation is way to give credit to the writers from whom you have borrowed words and ideas. By citing the work of a particular scholar, you acknowledge and respect the intellectual property rights of that researcher, It should always be accurate, allowing your readers to trace the sources of information you have used.

I agree with Ms.Keana Dizon That the paragraph 1 has been lacking some proper citations and references. If we take a look and read it carefully, paragraph 1 is more like an opinion because it held no evidence, not because paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 has the same text, not because they are similar.
However, According to the University of Oxford (2022) when you take someone’s work without their permission or consent without a full acknowledgment of it will be lead into plagiarism.

I agree with Ms. Jovelyn Tuliao that paragraph two is more authoritative because of the presence of citation unlike on the first which is lacking citation. In addition, the main reason you use citations in school papers is to give credit to other people’s work. This avoids charges of plagiarism and separates your words and thoughts from the words of others and proper citation allows readers to locate the materials you used. Citations to sources helps readers expand their knowledge on a topic. One of the most effective strategies for locating authoritative, relevant sources about a topic is to review footnotes or references from known sources.

I agree with Mr. Rivera, Ivan Drexler that paragraph 2 is more authoritative than paragraph 1, in which sentences or contexts are well-cited or well presented. In addition to that, the sole difference between the two paragraphs is that paragraph 1 does not contain any citations (Failure to properly credit sources may give the impression that the ideas, facts, and terminology you're employing are your own when they were actually copied from another author, which is regarded plagiarism and academically dishonest). Although the first paragraph is just as compelling as the second, the second has substantially more authority and is more persuasive in an academic setting, where you must indicate where you acquired your ideas. It illustrates the importance of the concepts you're arguing in your academic community. Citation is also one of the most visible ways in which authority is signaled in paragraph 2.

Moreover, citing your sources consistently and accurately helps you avoid commiting plagiarism in your writing.
In addition to that, I truly believe that paragraph 1 is lack of citation which plagiarism can appear in a paper in the form of insufficient citations. The author is not giving the reader enough information to understand, compared to paragraph 2 which is well-cited and well presented. Moreover citing your sources is the main way to avoid plagiarism. In fact, citing is what separates a correctly written paper from an academically dishonest one.

2. I agree with MS. ULEP, DESTINY DAWN that paragraph 2 is more evidential because the citations demonstrates that a proper and thorough research was conducted.

In addition to that, as Ms. Ulep said, the act of citing sources is also the best defense against allegations of plagiarism. If we are to submit an academic writing and the information written is not common, citations are good for reference and evidence to deny falsehood or such allegations. Thus, the lack of proofs of paragraph 1 made it less authoritative.

Because, i agree with Ms. Dizon and everyone else saying that the second paragraph is more reliable and trustworthy for it provides enough citations or references that made the paragraph trustable than the first one.
In addition to that, providing accurate citations puts your work and ideas into an academic context. They tell your reader that you’ve done your research and know what others have said about your topic. Not only do citations provide context for your work but they also lend credibility and authority to your claims.
Moreover, citations are important to avoid plagiarism and maintain academic integrity. Misrepresenting your academic achievements by not giving credit to others indicates a lack of academic integrity. This is not only looked down upon by the scholarly community, but it is also punished. When you are a student this could mean a failing grade or even expulsion from the university.

Citing specific sources for the various facts that we present removes the hallmarks of intellectual laziness, vague thinking, and sloppy writing as generalizations, clichés, and outright false claims, e.g., as when the phrases, “everyone knows” or “they say,” are replaced with specific sources.
When you cite sources properly, you leave no question in your readers’ minds regarding your point. Furthermore, by citing, you can easily use active language and avoid raising the dreaded red flag of passivity to journal editors and reviewers. Cite well, and you may forever expunge the phrase “It is said” from your academic paper.

I agree with the majority of my classmates who prefer a modest authoritative and detailed paragraph since providing examples and references to your statement helps avoid plagiarism. Paragraph 2 is a non-bias statement in my opinion because the author provided references and citations for his assertion.
Paragraph 2 is also more extensive and intelligible because it quoted a lot of material from the issue.

Furthermor, citations indicate which information is the work of another person or comes from a different source, as well as how it relates to your own work. Most importantly, It establishes credibility and guards against plagiarism.

Because, sentences or contexts were well cited and well presented.

However, these two paragraphs were both informative. But it came to the point that paragraph 2 has the upper-hand in terms of a paragraph’s completion to be more reliable than the other one. For example, we can observe in paragraph 2 that in every important information it states, there is an author or evidence that strengthens the statement more. By this, we can be assured that the informations that we had read were all in certainity.

It has references, which as the author's name and date that tell us when or where the information came from. Aside from this, references in paragraph two are also proof that guides us on whether the information in there was legitimate or just being made nonsense. Unlike paragraph one, it seems only just peace of idea about the topic, since it has no references, after all, there are circumstances this would be false information that is hard to believe.

However, even if paragraph two is more authoritative than the other paragraph, we must still remember that citing the reference is not enough to avoid plagiarism we must also avoid copying all the information including the reference, and just paste it into the paperwork that just likes it. This is because a lot of people do that including me sometimes. Because the idea of the other people is the only basis for referencing evidence to support the assertions and claims in our paperwork. Also referencing should always be accurate, allowing your readers to trace the sources of information you have used. The best way to make sure you reference accurately is to keep a record of all the sources you used when reading and researching for an assignment using the Literature Review Form.
