I believe that Tom holland is a better actor for spider man as he really connects with his character and is really popular. Also my favourite book series is knightly and son because it is a mystery action detective novel also with a father son relationship that can sometimes cause more problems. In addition I think that the best online entertainment platform is YouTube because it has thousands of different types of content and you can even make content yourself.

Charlie Owen

I believe that smooth peanut butter is better that crunchy peanut butter because crunchy peanut can get stuck in your teeth creating a less pleasant eating experience. As well as that if you were making a sandwich the whole bits of peanut can tear the bread. This further creates a less pleasant experience to smooth peanut butter. As well as that smooth has a slight more amount of protein making it more nutritional value as well

Alex Housley

In my opinion i believe that, cats are better than dogs. I believe this as dogs are loud and annoying on the other hand cats are sweet and not as loud as dogs. Dogs can be a big nuisance as they destroy stuff like their toys, furniture and other valuable stuff. Cats are a lot less expensive than dogs which will help you save money. Cats also take care of themselves and you don't need to wash them where as dogs you need to wash them regularly as they cant clean themselves. Cats don't take up much room in your home as they are quite small and petite. Cats also produce health benefits such as they help reduce stress and make you live longer. -phoebe stretton :))))

Also, I believe that winter is the best season of the year as it contains Christmas and new year as well as the season where it snows. Finally i believe, that science should not be an essential subject at school. Although i recognize that some aspects are important i think that people should not be made to learn the subject as many aspects of it won't be useful in the future.
Thomas M

I think that getting the Christmas tree from a Christmas tree farm is also part of the fun and one of the things I think of when I think of Christmas, and they are better for the environment. Also when I look at fake plastic Christmas trees they just look dead and just doesn't give of the same Christmassy spirit...
James Severs

In my opinion, pineapple definitely does not belong on pizza. Firstly, it's a fruit and its sweet tasting. Tomato and pineapple juice does not sound appealing to me, and it ruins the texture of the dough. It makes the crusts all wet and soggy, removing the flavour of the pizza. Instead of focussing on the pizza, you focus on the slimy pineapple on top which makes the experience less appealing. Vegetables such as peppers, olives or mushroom add to the savoury flavour, same as meats like chicken or ham.

freya :)

White bread or whole meal bread for sandwiches?

A lot of people say they prefer white bread and I guess I do when it comes to toast. However, when it comes to sandwiches it’s a different matter entirely, wholemeal is definitely the best. The colour looks more appealing and the texture is more interesting. The flavour is more variable as opposed to the blandness of the white. When looking at nutritional value, the less processed wholemeal bread is streets ahead. The carbohydrates are broken down more slowly giving a more sustained energy release, benefiting your blood sugar profile and keeping you fuller for longer. So, in conclusion, for me there is no contest, it’s wholemeal bread for my lunchtime snack.

Oscar

This is because it is fun and can be very competitive . I think football is fun because if you enjoy playing it and are good at it you can really get into it. It is also competitive as you can be aggressive on the pitch by shoulder barging and making hard tackles, which for some people can satisfy them ! Football is also very beneficial for your health as it involves 90 minutes of running around a big pitch. Linking to it being fun , scientifically exercise releases endorphins (known as your “happy”hormone) which puts a smile on your face. It is also a fun sport as you are playing as a team which can make you feel part of a “family” (community) and you can make lots of new, long lasting friendships.
Louisa

My second opinion is that Pizza Express is superior to Domino’s. This is because Pizza Express tastes much better and is much cheaper than Domino’s. I think there is no point in buying Domino’s when Pizza Express is cheaper and tastier. My final opinion is that R.S should be able to be dropped in year 9 because I think a lot of people, who don’t believe in God, can find the lessons extremely boring and not enjoyable and I don’t think that should be forced upon them especially if they don’t believe in anything.

Kerem

It is also a great source of carbohydrates and you can add a lot of things to it like fruit, jam or golden syrup to add some flavour to it and give more nutrients. It also doesn’t take too long to prepare, only 2-3 minutes and so gives you time to get other things ready in the morning instead of spending unnecessary time on breakfast when it can be quick, easy and filling
Jack H

Chapter 1 of The Crime at Black Dudley is partly successful at creating a sense of mystery. On one hand i do believe that a sense of mystery is created with our main supposed protagonist of the chapter he is oblivious to the people he is at this house/party with, creating intrigue. Furthermore, the setting of the chapter takes place in an old mansion that is described in the chapter as being 'bare and ugly' creating an eerie/creepy setting for the reader. On the contrary though, I also find that not much mystery is created as during the chapter the reader is mainly informed of only two things: the setting and character exposition which for me can get fairly boring quickly unless it is told in an interesting way - which it is not. This choice of the chapter being fairly uneventful, means that part of the mystery that is created through the protagonist/setting is somewhat lost as the reader becomes lost.

Alex Housley
the crime at black dudley by Margery Allingham

The author of this successfully creates a sense of mystery because of there use of language in the same mysterious or even creepy semantic field. An example of this is at the beginning it says 'miles of neglected parkland stretched in an unbroken plain to the horizon and sea beyond' the word 'neglected' is one of the many uses of this semantic field the author uses to successfully create the sense of mystery. The reason that the author did this is to make the reader believe as the semantic field says that the area that the scene is set in is 'neglected', 'grey' and 'bare' all of these words create a atmosphere of somewhere that is eerie or creepy.

i think the writer is somewhat successful in creating mystery and suspense in this story . I think this as it is only in the 2nd sentance , that the writer wrote ' and lived, I am afraid, rather a wild life' which the word wild gives away some mystery as you then know that something exiting was going to happen . But there are some words that add suspense to the story such as 'something worse , suspicious and absolutely silence everywhere ' . The word absolutely shows that any possibly of noise is cut of , which ands to the suspension as you wonder what will happen next in the silence . I also think that the plot was fastpacing , and didnt really give you time to think about what you have just read , which loses some of the suspension .
Rainbow

The writer is mainly successful in creating mystery in the story for a couple of reasons. One obvious reason is that you didn't know and expect what was going to happen making it 'mysterious' and thus causing a surprise at the end. Another reason that it is successful in creating mystery is that from the phrase 'the quiet in the room was horrible'. This successfully creates mystery because you would wonder why people at a gambling place are quiet enough to make the room feel uncomfortable and disturbing. The writer clearly had a motive of trying to create mystery.
Kerem

The writer has successfully created mystery in the story, because they keep the reader guessing, and does not give us that many clues, but only just enough to give you the answer if you were to really think about it, and were perhaps a detective yourself. Another reason is that it has a little bit of a surprise at the end, by revealing who had stolen the pearls. A quote that explains this is, "Hullo, Margy! What have you done with your necklace?" This is a good example because you then start to think okay, well what happened to it, and knowing that for homework we are doing sherlock we will probably think that it will end up being a mystery, and that someone had taken them, and that we are now going to have an investigation. On the other hand I think the writer could have done better by giving us some more clues so we could perhaps have some predictions and guesses ourselves to what happened to the pearls so that at the end, we could relate it to our answer and whether we got the right answer. Overall it did create mystery but could have been improved to create more suspense and mystery. Lucy

I don’t think that the writer of Scarlet, Doyle, has done a good job at creating mystery. This is because nothing exiting happens and every sentence is dull and boring. This can be seen in the quotation “That done, we gradually began to settle down to accommodate ourselves to our new surroundings.” This quote is not interesting just like the majority of them. I also think the beginning is too dragged out, although you get to know the characters, we don’t need that much detail. Although I do sympathise as it is the start of the novels there isn’t much mystery to be written about, but he still needs to engage the readers and keep them entertained. Also, in the ending, he could have added more mystery to guarantee the audience would read more of his novels. So, to conclude , I don’t think he has done a good job at creating mystery.
Louisa

Personally I believe that Doyle hasn't done a very successful job at creating mystery. This is because there is no clear build up to mystery and the sentences are bland. The story also lacks events, because there are no proper events that lead to tension and excitement. This can be seen in the quotation “That done, we gradually began to settle down to accommodate ourselves” this quote proves to us that the sentences are quite dull and lack the element of excitement and tension, which then causes the reader to lose interest in the price of writing . I also feel that the start of the story is to long, however you do get to meet the characters. We don’t need as much detail, although I do show sympathy for Doyle as it is the start of the novel’s . There is little to no mystery during the first couple of pages which makes this piece less successful as Doyle still needs to keep the readers engaged and interested. Doyle could have added more mystery and suspense at the end to engage and interest the reader. In conclusion I think that Doyle hasn’t created a very successful piece of mystery writing however it was a very good piece of detailed writing.

Oscar

They are mostly successful at this as he suggests the idea that the bed is moving he doesn't yet confirm that is is. When I read that he thought the bed was moving I instantly tried to come up with other solutions for why he might think that. Which builds a sense of mystery by making you try and guess what might be happening, because it's a mystery. Also, the ex-brave throughout the story was very suspicious, constantly giving him drinks and weird coffee, but the main character was too drunk to realize.
