Description: The Hunger Games series based its stories around a young female protagonist who is representing her country's capital. The books focus on corrupt governments, imbalances of power and wealth, and rebellion. The protagonist volunteers for the Hunger Games to saves her younger sister who were chosen for it first. Each year in punishment for a part of rebellion against the Capitol, two people from each district is selected through a lottery to participate in the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is also televised which showcasing the contestants battle each other to the death.

Analysis: I honestly was shocked to the see this popular series of books was banned. The Hunger Games book series were banned due to its critics' report being anti-ethnic, anti-family, violent, having offensive language, satanic references, and references to overt sexuality. In 2014, religious views were added to the list of reasoning for banning the book series. Which I am also surprised by due to the lack of religion that is mentioned in the books. I think what may be the real reasoning for banning the series was because it pertains to political rebellion and challenging authority which can influence its readers to do so.

Interpretation: I can agree with one of the reasoning for banning the book series from school environment due to it use of violence. Being that the people that are mainly involve in the reading are a younger group that are put into a battle to the death. The violence can somewhat be a influence that can mislead its younger readers into thinking that some things that are in the book can be imitated within their own lives. But I think the book series should be censored to its readers and stricter to what age group that is appropriate for.

Evaluation: I do agree with banning the book from school but not from everywhere to its appropriate age group of readers. In ways they can mislead its younger readers into a more rebellion against their school leaders or even their own parents. But one thing the book does touch on is showing how a corrupted government can really have its bad effects on to its citizens. Which I think would be to get more people to be involve in their local politics to avoid a problem likewise to happening with their community.

Captain Underpants series

Description: Captain Underpants series is about two fourth graders who accidentally hypnotize their cruel, bossy, and short-tempered principal. The principal then think he is the hero from one of the homemade comic books by the two fourth graders. The hero's name is Captain Underpants. The books are powered its use of empathy, humor, and action with the two fourth graders doing tricks and pulling their craziest pranks on the school's staff members. Captain Underpants series is like a lesson about the distinction between laughing with someone and about being able to laugh at yourself.

Analysis: When I did some research and found out that The Captain underpants series in 2012 was the most banned book in the country even beating out Fifty Shades of Grey, I was totally shocked. Parents had many complained about the book saying that in contains offensive language, violence, unsuited for the target are group, and encouraging disruptive behavior. The author for this series Dav Pilkey, responded with saying that any of the Captain Underpants book series do not contain any profanity, no nudity, no drugs, and no graphic violence.

Interpretation: Some parents can take the book series as offensive because of how the two fourth grader do pranks and tricks against adults. Also, some parents cannot relate to most children humor or what can be something that is so outrageous to them but can be something so simple and funnier to its younger audiences. Which can tell you that not every book is for every person. I do not think that is fair how the parents and teachers can take away fun away from a child life just because they do not agree with what is humor to them and not the child.

Evaluation: I think Captain Underpants book series should be unban because it can bring humor to its younger audience. It also can influence younger readers to have more fun with a book of

that can bring humor and action then rather reading a book series that could be more serious and boring to a young mind and can led to them not even being on even trying to understand what they are reading. Which is not fair for the younger readers that a parent or teacher can criticize a book that is meant for a younger audience.
