In the 8:01 time stamp, Reshma talks about how some girls are afraid to raise their hand in class because they don't want to be the only one with problems, the only one who doesn't understand. She makes us feel bad for these girls by saying how alone they feel in their struggle to learn. And by feeling bad for these girls we want to do something to make it better, which is what she wants.

Reshma uses logos in the 4:12 time stamp. She uses the example of boys applying to jobs when they only met 60% of the requirements while girls will wait until they met 100% of the requirements. A little later in the 5:04 stamp she mentions that 600,000 jobs are open right now in computing and tech. In the 11:16 stamp Reshma says "This year we'll teach 40,000 [girls] in all 50 states."

I do not agree with the things Reshma says. I do not think that girls are any less brave than guys; girls are just as likely to be brave as guys when they have to. And when it comes to bravery in the classroom, I think Reshma is completely and utterly false. In almost every single one of the classes I am in, a girl would ask a question way before a guy would. I also think Reshma is false with why she believes women do not go into coding careers and STEM careers. I do not think the reason girls are not going into STEM jobs is because they are too scared to do so, that just sounds like an excuse. I think the real reason girls and women are not pursuing and going into STEM as much a guys are, is simply because they do not want to. The top ten jobs for women, according to the United States Department of Labor, all focus around dealing/helping people, and there is a reason for this. Women are much more likely to go into careers that deal with people and help people because women are, by nature, much more nurturing than men. Women go into STEM jobs, or coding jobs, less than men do because they want to nurture, and they can not always get that with coding, and the other jobs in STEM. Yes I know this is not the case with every single women. I also disagree that women feel the need to be perfect more than men. In today's society the burden of perfection falls upon everyone equally. With the introduction of social media, people have eyes on you 24/7 and the desire to look perfect because of it has increased, and that goes for both genders. Going back to the classroom, boys can be just as mean and malevolent as girls, and vice versa. Both genders feel the need to be perfect because both genders do not want to be scrutinized. Overall, I do not agree with pretty much everything Reshma had to say. I think half of what she said was just excuses, and the other half guilt tripping.
