1. My expectations of government are that I will learn more about the government and the state as a whole because as of right now I don't really pay attention to any time of political or really even government stuff.
2. My expectations are that this class will be fun and since it is small we will be able to work through things faster than in most of my other classes.
3. To be completely honest when I see things about the presidential election I usually change the channel or I don't read them and I don't really know why. I feel like if I had to vote I would be voting for Trump because he seems to be the more reliable one of the two but obviously neither are perfect.

I think that it is amazing that it took until the 1980s for a women to be appointed to be a Supreme Court Justice. I think that it is good that Ginsburg and O'Connor became allies throughout their time because they were the first two women appointed and they deserved to always have someone in their corner. I think that it is awful that she got called a 'bitch' just because she is a female because that is not fair at all.

I think that it is better to listen to the Deceleration because it is more interesting than just reading it but I also think that reading it is good too because while listening to it sometimes I space out and miss parts that I probably should have heard.
2. My favorite part of the Deceleration of Independence is the end when it talks about them splitting with Great Britain but "in war we are enemies" because they don't want to be associated with them anymore and they make it clear.

I would support an amendment making flag burning unconstitutional because I think that if you live in the United States then you should respect the symbol of this nation. There are people that fight for our country everyday and whether you like what is going on in the country or not, there is no excuse for burning this nation's symbol. Find a more respectful way to protest and express your feelings but if you really feel the need to burn the flag I believe that you should be punished for it.

1. Overall I really liked the movie even though the beginning was pretty slow. I was kind of mad that Senator Paine was pretending to be friends with Senator Smith in the beginning and then threw him under the bus because he wanted to build a boys camp where they were already planning to build a dam. I liked how the lady at the end was coaching him at the filibuster because it was really cute. I liked how in the end Senator Smith really got to Senator Paine and it made him admit that they really had framed him and that he is the one not fit to be a senator.

2. I think that Jefferson Smith would probably belong to the republican party because he wanted to do things for his state and wanted to be an active member of society. He wanted to build the camp for the boys in his hometown to get them out and about so that they don't have to sit at home all of the time. I believe that after winning the debate that was going on, or the filibuster, Smith continued on in politics. He continued to support and come up with bills that benefited his state and continued to improve the lives of children. He later ran for president but did not win.

3. Jefferson Smith is comparable to Rodney Davis. Rodney helped on the Farm Bill that provides certainty to our farmers, strengths crop insurance, and cuts $23 billion in spending. Rodney demonstrated his ability to lead even in a divided government in his first term in Congress. Jefferson Smith also demonstrated his ability to lead and stand up for what he believes in by differing from what everyone else believed and stood up for his bill. Jefferson Smith and Rodney Davis are very similar in their ways and the fact that they both are in elected offices to help the people.
