Female Characters

In this anime, there are only a few female characters that have some role in the major plot. Right here though, the main focus will be on one of the more major female characters in Naruto who's name is Sakura. There are three main characters that the story revolves around and they are put in a team. Throughout the whole story, Naruto and Sasuke, the other main characters, get stronger and stronger as they face new challenges. Sakura in the other hand doesn't learn much and seems far less stronger than her teammates. The only real skills she learns are to heal and just to be able to hit people with a lot of force. This seems like it's indicating that females no matter what will just be there to help a man when he is hurt even though they live in a world where everyone inherits power and skills. This isn't only her issues, these are also for the other females in the story. I think it would only be right if she gained power like Naruto and Sasuke so they can seem equal when fighting enemies.

Sarah - Damsel in Distress

In the book, I Am Number Four, there is a part where Sarah has been caught stuck in a house fire all by herself while everyone is outside and safe. Four does come and rescue her though but this scene is rarely talked about in focus to what is happening to Sarah. There could be speculation that she was sleeping during the party but that would be hard to believe. After Four saves her, nothing is talked about her safety. Four just continues on to tell her who he really is. This means her being in danger was just a way to make the story keep going and spark the climax to the story. Even so, Pittacus Lore, the author, made Sarah look like a dumb fool in the fire. The fire started in the basement and she was in the top level. Could she not hear the people in panic and not smell the smoke? They just made her a damsel in distress. I thought this wasn't the right chose to spark things. Throughout the whole story, she is an intelligent, hard-working, and brave girl and all of a sudden she is stuck in this fire where her man must save her from.

In this anime series, the story revolves around Goku and Vegeta's journeys and battles. They are seen as strong and very powerful. Their wives though, they are seen as house wives that only clean and do things in the kitchen. They are barely seen in the story due to Goku and Vegeta always traveling but when we do see their wives, they are always in the house cleaning up and taking care of young ones. They are pretty much the only females in the story and by the way they are portrayed, it makes it look like once you're a wife, you just clean the house or look over young ones. There is however another female in the anime that can fight although we can never see her by herself. She is always with her male companion showing she needs a man to help her out due to her being weaker than most others. This makes it look like guys will always be stronger and better than any female which is wrong and shouldn't be the case. Women can take care of themselves and are very strong. I say to change the wives to at least be able to fight and not just hope their husbands are safe.
