Flag: red with a white cross in the center --> Flag was invented by Swiss soldiers. The aim was to have a common flag among cantons. There wasn't a real meaning of the choice.

The music is the same and just the lyrics has changed.  The first one  was a celebration of comunism, but now the text shows the love for the country. This is a part of it :

3. When the Zar Peter the grat visited Holland in year 1699 in order to learn about the construction of ships he noticed that Russia needs a flag for its navy. He inspired from the Dutch flag, but he changed the order of colors.
