          As a young student I would say that newspapers are still important.  Of course newspapers still have their disadvantages, but its advantages overcome its disadvantages.  For example, newspapers can make you take a break from the media or your computer; sooner or later you will get eye strain from reading from a computer.  It is said that old-fashioned paper is a better option for your eyes.  It also boosts your vocabulary and grammar skills plus it is available in different languages.  As long as we have ample amount of light it will not strain our eyes.

Having a great knowledge of different subjects gives the students an edge over their peers. Strengthen Vocabulary, Newspaper articles and news write-ups include rich vocabulary. 

Also, some people cannot afford any electronics that contain the news and stuff, they may only afford newspapers, and newspapers these days are pretty cheap. There's no problem about buying the newspaper, the newspaper has the exact news that is presented on TV's.
