Nazi Invasion of Poland 1939

Adolf Hitler commanded German forces to forcefully enter Poland. The battle was the mark of the start of WWll. Poland fought back with everything they had, but were soon overpowered by the Nazis. The battle caused larger conflicts, pulling France & Britain to declare war on Germany for the un-solicited & brutal attack. It also caused severe human suffrage amongst the Polish people; with a large loss of resources & humanity.

France's Maginot Line/Battle of Bulge may 1940

The French Maginot Line was not an attack, but a way of defense. It was installed along the eastern border of France & Germany after the brutal conflicts of WWl. It stretched about 800 miles & was filled with concrete shelters, obstacles & heavy-duty artillery weapons on hand for the French to use in the event of an attack from Germany. But, many flaws were soon pointed out, & the German attacked through the Ardennes Forest where the line did not stretch to in May of 1940.

The Fall of France may 1940

Germany attacks France through the Ardennes Forest & reaches their northern coast within 10 days. With limited resources & failure to plan, France is soon forced to surrender their forces. The Battle of France is a crucial subject of WWll as it marks the fall of Paris, & highlights the importance of adaptation & sudden needed mobility in modern warfare.

Dunkirk Rescue Operation May 26, 1940 – Jun 4, 1940

In the spring of 1940, right around the time of the surrender of France, French & British allied soldiers found themselves surrounded by hundreds of German forces on the beach of Dunkirk, France. A rescue operation was then organized for the thousands of stranded soldiers. It was risky, & the mission needed a lot of bravery implied, but on June fourth, the mission was successful, with all 338,000 troops being rescued from the beach.

Operation Barbarossa- June, 1941

Adolf Hitler had seeked to capture large territories at this time as well as solidifying their resources, & in doing this, launched the biggest invasion in history of its time on the Soviet Union. Operation Barbarossa became a huge disappointment for the Nazis, as Soviet resistance along with the harsh conditions of Russia's cold weather lead to the downfall of chance in conquering any land on the Eastern Front of Europe.

Pearl Harbor- December 7th, 1941

Pearl harbor was the beginning of the US presence in WWll. It was a surprise Japanese Naval attack on the US Navy base in Hawaii. They targeted the US heavy military equipment, which caused the US to loose much of their resources, along with 2,400 lives. America declared war soon after the devastation.

Stalingrad- August 1942 – February 1943

The Battle of Stalingrad was a large moral & confidence boost for the Soviet Union. The Nazis stormed the city of Stalingrad (now called Volgograd) in hopes to occupy it. It is known as one of the bloodiest battles in history, as the two sides endured much loss in urban street fights of the battle. Relentless Soviet attacks, along with cold, harsh weather & supply shortages, the Germans eventually surrendered.

The D-Day Invasion- June 6, 1944

D-Day Invasion was the mark of the fall of the Nazis & their control over Western Europe. It was an organized attack by the United States, Great Britain, Canada & other allied forces. It took place on the beach of Normandy France, & though the forces suffered great loss with many severe casualties, the Battle is seen as one of the most crucial battles in history; with the forces successfully keeping a foothold on the coast of Normandy, & allowing for the re-rise of France & fall of Germany's domination.

Battle of Berlin- April 16 to May 2, 1945

The Battle of Berlin was the final straw for Germany & WWll. The capital of Germany was seized by the Soviet Union, causing Hitler to commit suicide. The allied forces attacked Berlin heavily due to tremendous resistance from Nazi troops & Hitlers loyalists. This Battle was the ultimate collapse of the Third Reich.
