In the southwest part Russia you will find the Caucasus Mountains. The Caucasus Mts. separate the Caspian and black sea. These mountains also divide Russia and Transcaucasia. In southern and central Russia you will find steppes and large coniferous forests. There are also more than 100,000 rivers in Russia. Taiga takes up 60% of all of Russia and starts around the western border. The tundra extends for over 4,349 mile from east to west.
