In the last lesson, we worked on what we feel/say, our influences, gains, pains, constraints and needs. I had written that I feel sleepy, I am influenced because there is too much work, I gain nothing, am overworked, and my constraints are that I need to improve my grades. The idea that JOspeh had suggested me was an all in one study work book. It has all the information in the world. I really like this idea as whenever I have something that I do not understand I can just read the book and immediately understand what it means.

The all-in-one study workbook idea directly addresses academic overwhelm by structuring learning through adaptive content, instant clarification tools (QR-linked videos, mistake alerts), and built-in anti-burnout features like Pomodoro timers—turning chaotic study sessions into focused progress. Meanwhile, Kevin’s gaming-time management strategy tackles the exhaustion cycle by pairing app blockers with a physical timer system that enforces study/gaming ratios, using gamified rewards (e.g., "30min gaming unlocks after 45min study") to balance productivity and leisure. Together, these approaches create a symbiotic system: the workbook maximizes limited study time’s efficiency, while the timer strategy protects energy levels by preventing overexertion, making sustained academic improvement achievable without sacrificing downtime.

This week, we created an empathy map for our target audience, "Jacuavious Jamal-Tyrone", a teen who is vaping. The key insights include his conflicted feelings about vaping, need for vape therapy and emotional support, and issues like addiction, health problems, and social isolation. We also completed the target audience profile, focusing on teens who vape, and used the "Jacuavious Jamal-Tyrone" persona to represent our understanding of this group. The empathy map and target audience profile provide valuable insights to guide our efforts in addressing the challenges faced by young vape users.

This week, we focused entirely on recording all the videos for the website. We wanted to make sure each video was high quality and actually helpful, not just a bunch of information people would ignore. We planned out different sections—explaining the dangers of vaping, sharing real quitting strategies, and, of course, bringing Jacquavious Jamal Tyrone’s story to life.

Filming took longer than expected because we had to get everything right—the script, the delivery, and even small details like lighting and background noise. Some scenes had to be redone multiple times, especially parts where we wanted to make Jacquavious Jamal Tyrone’s journey feel authentic. We made sure his story showed both the struggles and the wins, so people could actually relate to it. Editing was another challenge, but by the end of the week, we had all the videos done and ready to go on the website. Now, everything was coming together, and the site felt more real with the videos in place.

We started making the website and writing the script this week. First, we planned out the site structure which is the home page, character profiles, videos, customer reviews, booking system, and blog posts. We wanted it to look professional but also simple enough for people to navigate easily. The color scheme had to be clean and modern, something that would catch attention without feeling overwhelming.

Writing the script for the video was next. We didn’t want it to sound robotic or like a lecture, so we made it more natural, like a conversation. We focused on real stories, including the character profile of Jacquaious, to make it relatable. The video had to be engaging, so we added sections where people could hear real experiences and see facts about vaping’s effects. The goal was to make quitting feel like a real, achievable thing, not something impossible.

At the same time, we worked on the blog section, which would have posts about vaping myths, quitting tips, and personal experiences. We also set up the booking system so people could schedule sessions for help. It wasn’t easy figuring out all the tech, but we managed to get the basics done by the end of the week.

This week was all about finalizing the website and recording the video. We made sure everything on the site worked smoothly—fixing bugs, improving the layout, and making the booking system actually functional. The videos section was updated with some edits, and we put extra effort into making Jacquavious Jamal Tyrone’s story stand out. His character represents the struggles many teens face when trying to quit vaping, so we made sure his journey was relatable and impactful.

Recording the video took a while since we wanted it to be as good as possible. We focused on making Jacquavious Jamal Tyrone’s story engaging, ensuring that his struggles, setbacks, and eventual breakthrough felt real. We made sure the audio was clear, the visuals were strong, and the message actually resonated. Some parts had to be reshot, but in the end, it came together well. The script felt natural, and we made sure it didn’t just sound like another school project—it needed to connect with people.

By the end of the week, everything was ready. The next step was getting people to actually see it and use it.

We first got the idea for this project when we started noticing how many people at our school were vaping. It wasn’t just older students—even younger ones were getting into it. We’d see people doing it in the bathrooms, at the park after school, or even just casually in groups. It felt like no one really took it seriously, even though we knew how bad it was. People joked about it, passed vapes around like it was nothing, and when we tried bringing up the risks, most didn’t care. Some even thought vaping wasn’t that harmful.

That’s when we realized we wanted to do something. We didn’t want to just sit back and watch more people get hooked on something they didn’t fully understand. At first, we weren’t sure how to approach it. We thought about doing a basic presentation, but that felt boring, and we knew no one would pay attention. Then we considered making posters, but that didn’t seem big enough to actually make an impact. After brainstorming, we came up with something better—a website and a video that could actually connect with people in a way that was interesting, not just another school project.

We wanted the website to be a place where people could find real stories, see the actual effects of vaping, and even get help if they wanted to quit. The video would make everything feel more personal, so it wasn’t just statistics—it was something people could relate to. Once we had the idea, we knew we had to make it happen.

Post Spinoff Reflection

Where did our group do really well in the Spinoff task?
Our group did really well in coming up with an idea that actually matters. Instead of just making a random website, we focused on something that could help real people. We put in a lot of effort to make GOTTA STOP engaging, not just informational, by adding videos, a character, and an interactive booking system. We also worked well as a team, splitting up tasks effectively and making sure everything came together smoothly.

What improvements would we make if we had the opportunity to do the task again?
One thing we’d improve is the website’s first version. Initially, it felt too much like a school project—too many stats, not enough connection. If we had more time, we would’ve tested different designs and layouts earlier to make it more engaging from the start. Another improvement would be making the booking system smoother. Right now, it works, but we could refine it further to make it easier to use.

What Elements of Collaboration were successful?
Our group had strong teamwork and communication. We divided tasks well—some focused on the website coding, others on scriptwriting, and others on gathering research and designing visuals. Everyone contributed, and we constantly checked in with each other to make sure everything was progressing. Another big success was how we handled feedback. Instead of just sticking with our first idea, we made changes based on what people said, which made the final product much better.

What improvements could have been made in terms of Collaboration?
At times, we could’ve been more organized. There were moments when we weren’t sure who was doing what, which led to some last-minute scrambling. If we did this again, we’d set clearer deadlines for different parts of the project to avoid any confusion. Also, while we communicated well overall, there were times when we could have updated each other more frequently to prevent overlapping work.

What Persuasive Techniques did we use? How effective were these? What evidence do I have of this?
We used several persuasive techniques to make GOTTA STOP more impactful. One big one was relatability—instead of just listing health risks, we created Jacquavious Tyrone, a character who represents the struggles of quitting. This made the message more personal. We also used emotional appeal by including real stories and showing how vaping affects mental health, not just physical health. Another technique was social proof—we included testimonials and success stories to show that quitting is possible. The effectiveness of these techniques was clear in the feedback we got—people found the website engaging and felt like it spoke directly to them rather than just lecturing them.

Do you have at least 6-10 different contents of post?
Yes, we have a variety of content, including:

Informational posts about vaping risks

Success stories from people who quit

A video featuring our character Jacquavious Tyrone

A booking section for professional help

Blog posts with tips and motivation

Interactive features like our quit-plan guide

Do you include visuals and written information?
Yes, we balanced visuals and written content to keep the site engaging. We used images, videos, and graphics alongside text to make sure it wasn’t just blocks of writing. The visuals help break up the information and make it easier to digest.

Do you reflect on your research/process of prototyping? (Inquiry and Reflection 1)
Yes, throughout the process, we researched vaping statistics, the psychology of addiction, and effective quitting strategies. We didn’t just throw random facts together—we made sure everything was backed by research. The website evolved as we learned more, especially after getting feedback that our first draft was too dry.

Did you get feedback from others and reflect on what you can do differently? (Inquiry and Reflection 2)
Yes, feedback played a huge role in shaping GOTTA STOP. Initially, our website was too focused on stats and wasn’t engaging enough. After getting feedback, we made big changes—adding videos, creating Jacquavious Tyrone, and making the content more interactive. The improvements made the site more appealing and effective.

Did you grow in your entrepreneur skills and character strengths through leading or working with the group when facing challenges? (Collaboration and Communication)
Definitely. This project required problem-solving, leadership, and adaptability. We had to figure out how to make a website, manage different tasks, and respond to feedback. There were moments when things didn’t go as planned, but we learned to adjust and keep moving forward. Working as a team also helped us develop better communication skills—we had to listen to each other, divide tasks fairly, and make sure everyone’s ideas were heard

This week was all about editing the videos and making sure they looked professional and engaging. We had a lot of footage to go through—especially from Jacquavious Jamal Tyrone’s story—so the first step was cutting out anything that didn’t fit or messed up the flow. Some parts had background noise, some needed better transitions, and some just felt too long, so we trimmed everything down to make it smooth and to the point.

We also added subtitles to make sure the message was clear even without sound. Then came the visuals—adjusting the lighting, adding effects where needed, and making sure the pacing kept people interested. For Jacquavious Jamal Tyrone, we focused on making his story hit hard, using background music and well-timed cuts to emphasize key moments. By the end of the week, everything was coming together, and the videos actually looked like something people would want to watch instead of just another school project. Now, all that was left was adding them to the website and making final tweaks.

The Steve Jobs movie showed a different side of him—not just as a tech genius but as a perfectionist who pushed people to their limits. It focused on his ambition, conflicts, and personal struggles rather than just his success. His relationships, especially with his daughter, showed how his obsession with work affected his personal life.

What stood out was how he wasn’t the one building the products—he was the one making people believe they had to exist. The movie didn’t paint him as a hero or a villain, just as someone whose vision came at a cost.
