Positive: Teacher Engagement- Mrs. Dabish is taking the time to engage each child and is so patient and positive.
Biggest Concern: Amount of time on screen/Amount of oversight needed from caregiver. 9-3:30/4 is very long for these little ones. Also many kids do not have enough caregiver oversight due to working parents so it is more challenging for them to "find' the right worksheet etc.

Positive: Mrs. Dabish is wonderful. She is so kind and patient, and she explains things very clearly and provides great models for the kids. Biggest question: Will students get some small group (or even one-on-one time) with the teacher like they would in the classroom?

Biggest concern: Too much screen time for kindergarten. Also, would appreciate the "mute all" button used more often, as other household noises are disruptive and at times too much sensory overload for kids to focus on the actual task. Can there be more mute/unmute control on teacher side vs. student?

Biggest concerns:
-long day! It's so hard to keep them attentive. I appreciate the structure of a "normal" school day through the our path program for them, however 9-3/4 is very long to be on the computer at this age and I have noticed my child get more and more restless as the day progresses.
-large class size with limited ability for much one on one time with the teacher and interaction between the students themselves

Biggest Concerns:
--The student engagement level and retention of concepts is not the same when learning the Kindergarten curriculum online. This is simply due to the fact that Kindergartners cannot read and write yet so they need a full time adult with them at all times during the day, which is not realistic for 2 working parents. Tasks such as finding the right material and navigating the computer successfully require full time monitoring by an adult for every child to be successful, and in the current remote world that cannot happen for a lot of families.
--For this reason alone Kindergartners should have the option to go back for full day, face-to-face instruction since this age group is at the largest disadvantage. This age group needs, at minimum, a face-to-face educational foundation to build upon before they can be successful in any remote environment.

Positive - The teachers and staff are very friendly and professional. It is obvious that they care for the children and are trying very hard in this difficult time.

Concerns - With that being said, I do not find the virtual classroom very effective and am anxious for when the kids can go back to school as many other districts are already doing.

The biggest issue is that it is tough to engage multiple kids on a video conference, especially for extended periods of time. Children get bored waiting on their turn to share, they have difficulty seeing or hearing the other children that are speaking, the videos are choppy, and many families are unable to have someone in the room with them at all times to assist and make sure they are doing what they are expected.

I receive daily text thanking the students and parents for their assistance, but I have no idea what assignments my child is expected to complete, how they will be graded, if they participated, if they are being a disturbance, etc...

It would be beneficial if we were given a schedule ahead of time and we can lay out what they need to do for the day making it easier for them to find. We can then check to see if they completed it and send a picture or whatever we need to do.

I personally feel that 9 to 4 is too long for kindergartners and would like to see this reduced with perhaps more homework that parents can assist at their leisure.

Mrs. Bastuba is absolutely amazing, she has been great with the kiddos. She is patient and she is kind. We truly appreciate her and all the hard work she has done and dose for the children.

Concern- its a vary long day and trying to keep them Engaged, Excited and the want to learn is becoming a Challenge. I agree this age group should be allowed to go back to face to face. I work, my kid our with my mother who is not the greatest with technology and my older son helps him which is great but then it pulls him away from his class.

I also feel that the virtual platform is so hard for these 5 and 6 year olds. They need to be able to really interact with their peers.
