Ambitious
“…But first I’m going to be a doctor, and George, for one, still thinks that’s pretty funny. I couldn’t be bothered with that. I’m going to be a doctor and everybody around here better understand that!” p. 50
This quote shows that Beneatha is ambitious because she is doing everything on her own no matter what anyone i the house says. People are doubting her and thinks that she's crazy because it's impossible for her to be a doctor. All she wants is for everyone to believe in her, but if they don't she is still going to do what she has to do. She is one of the first black women to try to succeed to her goal no matter what anyone else says.

Prideful
(Cutting George off and staring at him as she replies to Ruth) "It means someone who is willing to give up his own culture and submerge himself completely in the dominant, and in this case oppressive culture!" p. 8,
This quote shows that Beneatha is prideful of what she is and not to let a man change you. She ends up cutting her hair off and the men they don't even except her for who she is. Her natural hair symbolizes her pride in her African heritage and her desire to explore her African roots. With her natural hair Beneatha proudly marks herself as an anti-assimilationist and visibly expresses her racial identity.

My opinion on Benatha is that she is a very intelligent black women who is trying to go to school. She is very intelligent because she is the smartest one out of the younger family and she wants to go to school to be a doctor. She dreams of being a doctor and struggles to find her identity. Out of all this Beneatha is very determined about certain things in her life, but she had to find herself in order to full-fill these dreams.

This piece describes my character because she has three different people in her and she doesn't know which one to be. Beneatha has a person for each of the men in her life and then the one in the middle is her. She has a hard time finding out who to be because if one doesn't like what she's wearing then he tells her and she changes, but then if the other one doesn't like what she's wearing she changes again. Beneatha finally figures out a way to stop what they are saying about her and if he didn't like it she didn't care.

This poem represents Beneatha 's character because she didn't know what to do. She couldn't b herself around anyone she was always changing herself up. The poem means that if you don't show who you really are the world is just missing out on something great, and that's what she had to realize. You should never hide yourself away because you care what other people think and you should never let anyone convince you what to do with your life. As long as you let everyone who the real you is they will except you for you and if they can't then they shouldn't be in your life.
