This quote shows that Beneatha is ambitious because she is doing everything on her own no matter what anyone i the house says. People are doubting her and thinks that she's crazy because it's impossible for her to be a doctor.All she wants is for everyone to believe in her, but if they don't she is still going to do what she has to do. This quote shows that Beneatha is prideful of what she is and not to let a man change you. She ends up cutting her hair off and the men they don't even except her for who she is. Her natural hair symbolizes her pride in her African heritage and her desire to explore her African roots. With her natural hair Beneatha proudly marks herself as an anti-assimilationist and visibly expresses her racial identity.

She has a hard time finding out who to be because if one doesn't like what she's wearing then he tells her and she changes, but then if the other one doesn't like what she's wearing she changes again.
