Our school has many traditions. We celebrate, for example, Valentine's Day, the first of September and New Year's Day.

At school we learn different languages, such as French and English.

          The state restoration day which happens on February 16  in Telšiai Žemaitė Gymnasium is inseparable from the inauguration of the students' president. Every year gymnasium students are taught the principles of democracy, voting culture, fair competition. Elections are held according to all the rules, as should be the case when electing the Seimas or the President of the Republic of Lithuania. This year, gymnasium student Matas Paulauskas became the twenty-second president of students.

     After completing the first half of the school year, summarizing the learning outcomes, high school students participate in sports, culture, and educational events.  This year, the students visited the Telšiai Žemaitė Drama Theatre and took part in the lesson "Theatre from the locker room to the applause".  Students learned how to play etudes, got acquainted with the history and activities of the theater.  Others visited the Telšiai Youth Center, where they spent time according to their hobbies: they played table tennis, table billiards, played guitar, played team games, and were interested in the activities of the youth center. 

 

       Every year, high school students celebrate European Day of Languages.  The aim of this day is to promote language learning and strengthen intercultural cooperation on our continent.  This year in Lithuanian, English, Russian, German and Latin lessons, students completed tasks related to poetry;  created and read poems, translated poems of famous poets from Lithuanian into English, German, Russian.  Creative lesson tasks motivate students to develop foreign language skills.
