The Japanese rule of Korea ended on the fifteenth of August 1945 after Japan surrendered in World War II and the military forces of the United States of America and the Soviet Union occupied the region.
2. Buddha's birthday is the birthday of Prince Gautama Buddha, a tradition often celebrated in East Asia on the eighth of the fourth month of the Chinese calendar, and is an official holiday in Hong Kong, Macau, and South Korea. This day differs when converted to the Gregorian calendar, and the following list shows the date of the feast in the years of the current age: 2003: May 8 2004: May 26.
3.In 1961, the Korean government passed the Child Welfare Act, which officially designated May 5 as Children's Day. Koreans used to celebrate Children's Day on May 1st.
4. Today, Monday, South Korea celebrates the 67th anniversary of Martyrs' Day, as people across the country honor the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.
5. The Korean independence movement on March 1 was the spark that ignited the resistance movement among the Koreans, which, although unsuccessful, resulted in the formation of a partial Korean government-in-exile in Shanghai.
6. September 21, 2021 marks the Korean Thanksgiving Day, which lasts for three days.
Chuseok dates back more than 2,000 years, when Koreans held the Korean Harvest Moon Festival to thank their ancestors for the year's harvest. The celebration lasts for three days and falls on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month, which usually takes place in September or October in the Gregorian calendar.
Chuseok is the most popular holiday in Korea, so the travel is very high and the traffic is incredible since the majority travel to visit their families or the graves of their ancestors. It is also a gift-giving holiday, when friends and co-workers exchange gifts of food, alcohol, fruit and other non-perishable items.
7. Kicheon-gol is a national holiday in South Korea that falls on the 3rd of October. Also known as “Korean Founding Day”, it is a holiday to celebrate the formation of the first Korean state, Go-Joo-sun (formerly known as the Kingdom of Korea) in 2333 BC. This day is considered the date of the founding of the Korean state.
8.Korean Alphabet Day or Hangul Day is a national holiday in Korea commemorating the invention of Hangul, the official alphabet of the Korean language, by King Sejong. This day falls on October 9 every year in South Korea and January 15 in North Korea.

The movies take a lot of influence from Korea’s own past, featuring a lot of material from the Japanese occupation, the Korean War, the road towards democratization and globalization, and so on. Although there is still present some shyness to putting certain materials on film, simultaneously Korean filmmakers are bold in expressing their views of society, through internationally well-received movies like The Handmaiden and Parasite.

Korean dramas differ from a lot of Western TV content, as they are typically only made to last for one season, with one overarching plot lasting 12 to 16 or so episodes. Historical stories and sitcoms may last longer, even up to 200 episodes, but the majority of prime-time television is set up this way. The dramas range on a variety of topics, from history and action to school and work life.

However, many of the most popular dramas have had a romantic story as their main element. Love stories on screen in Korea often play out quite differently from what is common in the West, with bedroom scenes and even deep kisses still remaining relatively rare to see. In the past few years, Korean dramas have also become more interested in tackling today’s societal issues, such as classism, mental health, bullying, spy cameras, corruption, and so on .

K-Pop is short for Korean pop, Korea’s response to Western mainstream music. The music itself samples different genres, from rock and jazz to hip-hop and techno, influenced by worldwide trends.
However, despite the influences, K-Pop is also quite different from Western pop, with idol groups being its leading force. The K-pop groups are formed by entertainment agencies from hoards of young trainees, who have been signed to the agencies in hopes of debuting as an artist at a young age, often years before getting lucky. In each group, each member plays their own role: there’s a dancer, a rapper, the main singer, a pretty face, and so on.
And although the songs themselves are important, the entire concept of each “comeback” – the term used whenever a group or an artist releases new content – is carefully crafted. From hair styling to dance moves and music videos, there is often a specific theme behind each single or album release, which also influences the mood and tune of the songs.

The spiritual ground and beliefs of Koreans are built mainly around the religions of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Christianity. Of these, especially Confucianism has a long record of influence in Korea, and its political and social philosophies can still clearly be seen in today’s Korea. However, Buddhism and Christianity are also highly visible in the society where the Buddhist South Koreans account for 46% of the population and a lot of the areas in South Korea that are listed as world heritage sites are Buddhist temples.

For example, the concept of hierarchy in Korea comes from Confucianism. The hierarchy is built based on a person’s age, job status, education level, and general social rank. Thanks to Confucianism, a lot of emphasis is put upon respecting one’s elders and ancestors.

And although especially the younger generations of South Koreans are becoming more and more individualistic, Korea is still a largely collective society, with the family, workplace, business, and others’ perception of you holding a lot of importance. Therefore, it is not rare to still see the type of family dynamics where the eldest son of the family holds additional responsibilities over the family. He is also expected to take care of the parents when they reach retirement age.

🇯🇴 The flag of Jordan is the official flag of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Its official use began on April 16, 1928. It is derived from the flag of the Great Arab Revolt, which was announced by the Sheriff of Mecca, Hussein bin Ali, against the Ottoman Empire in 1916. It consists of four colors: red (indicating The Great Arab Revolt) / green (indicating the family of the House) / white (indicating the Umayyad dynasty) / and black (indicating the Abbasid dynasty).
🇯🇴 The red triangle that combines the three stripes represents the Hashemite dynasty.
🇯🇴 The seven-rayed planet (the seven-rayed star) indicates the opening of the Holy Qur’an (Surah Al-Fatihah of seven verses), or in another saying, the star indicates the seven mountains of Oman, and its presence in the middle of the triangle indicates the goal of the Great Arab Revolt (unification of the Arab peoples).

🇯🇴Currency $: The Jordanian dinar is the official currency of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and is issued by the Central Bank of Jordan.
🇯🇴Language: The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is an Arab country whose citizens speak Arabic in a Jordanian dialect similar to other Shami dialects.
🇯🇴Location: Jordan is located in southwest Asia, mediating the Middle East by its location in the southern part of the Levant region, and the northern region of the Arabian Peninsula.

🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴🇯🇴
Jordan has one of the richest historical backgrounds. Even though Jordan has experienced has had a long history shaped by major historical events, the culture of Jordan is based on Arabian/Islamic elements.
Jordan was also a significant location in the Bronze Age and the Ummayad/Khalifat era which lent it the geographic and population diversity that it has now.
Jordan tradition: The Jordan society’s base is the family as most Jordanians are in some sort of family. Men and women are segregated for the most part to respect Islamic teachings.
While the capital Amman can be open and modern, the rural Bedouin population continues to follow a more traditional way of life in order to preserve customs passed down for generations in the Islamic heritage.
The cuisine of Jordan:
There is a lot of diversity in the Jordanian style of cooking, in fact, you can see a starking difference between the food of the north difference with the food of the south. And some of the Famous Jordanian dishes may include Maqloobeh, Freekeh, Kanafeh, and Mansaf.
These are the famous dishes that people gather around over for celebrations including eid and Ramadan. They’re also famous for putting olive oil and hummus in all their foods as well as Lebanese style bread. As for the Traditional Jordanian Men’s Clothing Most Jordanian clothes for men wear a long-sleeved one-piece robe that covers the whole body called a dishdashah or thoub. In summertime, the dishdashah is made of white cotton to reflect sunlight. In the winter, darker, heavier fabrics keep the wearer warmer.
Along with the dishdashah, men also wear a head cover consisting of three pieces. The bottom piece of this head covering – the thagiyah – is a white cap. Sometimes it has holes to hold the hair in place. On top of the thagiyah is a scarf-like headcover that comes in two types. It’s a light, white headcover – the gutrah – which people wear in summer. During winter, Jordanians switch to a heavy red and white checkered head covering – the shumag or keffiyeh. While women Traditional Clothing is quite unique. The most traditional clothing has a long rectangular opening slit or decorative panel on the front of the dresses. Women wear handmade embroidered dresses sometimes with a hijab in colors of black and red, as well as incorporation of gold at times. However, as we mentioned before, this varies throughout the regions of Jordan.
Costumes in northern Jordan are called shirsh. They are usually the same length all around with long, tight sleeves and a low, embroidered neckline. The hem and the sides of the costume usually contain intricate embroideries with beautiful designs.

French is a Romance language of the Indo-European family. It descended from the Vulgar Latin of the Roman Empire, as did all Romance languages. French evolved from Gallo-Romance, the Latin spoken in Gaul, and more specifically in Northern Gaul. Its closest relatives are the other languages d'oïl—languages historically spoken in northern France and in southern Belgium, which French (Francien) largely supplanted. French was also influenced by native Celtic languages of Northern Roman Gaul like Gallia Belgica and by the (Germanic) Frankish language of the post-Roman Frankish invaders. Today, owing to France's past overseas expansion, there are numerous French-based creole languages, most notably Haitian Creole.
