Aunt Alexandra Paragraph

Just from this chapter we can see a lot about Aunt Alexandra. We can see that she acts sweet and sophisticated, which is only an act she puts on. She does to make herself seem good and get the support of Maycomb's sophisticated. But she is actually very controlling. She wants to make Scout and Jem be more like her and make their family seem sophisticated. She also tries to force Atticus's hand into making Scout and Jem act more elegant and not like run of the mill people. About halfway through the chapter Scout comes inside to get a drink, but Alexandra tells her to come to the room she's in with her friends. But it says that she immediately regrets it because Scout is very dirty from playing outside.
