The Brown v. Board of Education was a supreme court case which ruled that segregation in public schools was unequal so it was unconstitutional. This was put together by the NCAAP which worked in small groups so they wouldn't cross racial barriers. Even after the decision was made black activism was still needed and used to convince the federal government to take these laws further by making most public areas unsegregated.

The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a large boycott led by Dr. Martin Luther King. The boycott lasted over a whole year. It all started on December 1 1955 when Rosa Parks(a older black lady) refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white bus rider. She was later arrested and this was because in the South it was law for blacks to give away their seat to a white bus rider. This led to a black community boycott.
