"When I Saw the World"

When I heard the plane engines roar,
When the take-off, adrenaline, and exhilaration were crashing over me
When I was shown the culture, the beauty, and nature that was integrated with the folklore,
When I sitting felt the connection between the people and historical establishments that came to an epiphany,
How soon this life of mine will be at the tip of the iceberg,
Till the spirits around me lead me down to the path of finding myself.
Myself.
Mine.
This life that has been defined
Can I not claim for it to be mine?

When I heard the lies of being a person thriving with life,
When the life I have not yet chosen were laid out like a map before my eyes,
When I was shown the tools of life, but was overcome with the struggle of individual strife.
When I sitting thinking of the others who were more intelligent than the wise,
How soon I came to the thought of throwing out what's good and bad,
Till the glow of the sun's rays reached my tender face,
How happiness was the key to opening up my eyes just a tad,
The new perspectives helping me realize that these new thoughts can replace,
Becoming an individual, that is my true goal.
I am who I am and that will be my focus for the world.
