1851- the collidion was invented by Frederick Archers

1871- Dr Richard Leach Maddox invented geletin dry plates which lead to the decline of the Collidion process

1880- the process was largely replaced by the geletin plates.

Albumen:

1850- Louis Desire Blanquart Eurards invented the albumen.

1850-1900- albumen prints developed from Collidion negatives.

until 1890- they were the most popular print in photography.

1900- the Kodak brownie

Kodak further democratized photography by releasing the popular brownie box camera. This affordable and easy-to-use camera made photography accessible to even more people, cementing its place as a popular pastime.

Paul strand:

Paul fused together two seemingly contradictory approaches of documentary and abstraction. For years, he only produced contact prints, his pictures were pure, direct and devoid of trickery. His work represented the he final break with the traditional concepts of photographic subject matter.

The next photographic processes to look at overtook albumen in the mid-1880s, the collodion printing out and gelatin printing out print processes. It can sometimes be extremely difficult to distinguish between the two. Like the albumen printing, they were contract printed under sunlight.

The first series version of the Leica I officially entered production at the end of 1924.

It built on the experience of the Leica 0 series and was the first 35 mm camera to be successfully mass produced with a 35 mm cinema film format, which was revolutionary at the time.

In 1925, it was presented to the public at the Spring Trade Fair in Leipzig.
