I really enjoyed the giver through the ways that their dystopian world worked. I enjoyed the parts where the Giver gave memories to Jonas that their people had never experienced even though we go through them each day. It was a bit confusing at the start when I didn't really know what was going on but as it progressed I started to begin liking it, Overall it was a great story and it was well written. I also liked how there world had 1s, 2s,3s and so on instead of year 1, 2, 3 and kids were chosen into families instead of born.

My review on the giver was that i really enjoyed it. The reason why is that it used a futuristic and adventurous/fantasy type of text. Its about a world where everyone is the same and has no discrimination. Everyones memories were lost and the main character Jonas is chosen to uncover the truth. It had multiple conflicts and it is in general a really good story.

The giver is an incredible book as it has an easy to follow plot and slowly builds up to a massive ending. At the start of the book I found it very boring but as it went on I found it very interesting the constant incline of tension then the resolution we all wanted just a great end to a great book. My favorite part of the book was the selection process as we all thought that Jonas wouldn't get an assignment and ended up getting the most important one. In my opinion it was the best book I have read in the last year.

I like how Jonas had some internal conflicts because it shows an element of realism and shows how he is different from the rest. I also like how he is different and even though people think he is crazy and the whole society is against him (except for the giver) he stays true to himself. There were many conflicts in this text which I like and there was a lot of pressure on the Giver and Jonas to make sure that the Giver didn't fail training the new Receiver (like he did last time) and also so that Jonas wouldn't quit because of the pain from WW2.

The story was written well to hold suspense and a feeling of something off. The memories and characters had so much to them as well, overall I loved the giver.

It intrigued me because of the way that the author depicted the dystopian world and found interesting ways to make the flaws become a conflict. I like the structure of the book and the different twists that came in some of the chapters.
One part of the book i really enjoyed was when i found out the strange thing Jonas was seeing colour, this is because i cannot feel how he felt and describe the sensation of it looked like to him. I also was surprised by the twist when Jonas found out that releasing would kill people. Overall i quite like the book but was a bit disappointed at the dull end confusing ending

It described the memories that the giver gave to Jonas well. They also had a similar world to us that was much more restrictive from our point of view but from their point of view, it is a safer world. I didn't understand some of the terms at the start such as being "released" or peoples "assignments" but as the book went on it started to make more sense. 👍

The main characters name is Jonas and he has been assigned the job of holding memories from the past because it would bring pain and suffer to everyone if they have to share the memories. I enjoyed the start and the middle of the book very much. But the end made me dislike the book. It made me dislike it because it is a very fast and inconclusive ending. I believed that the ending was unnecessary and it could've ended in a different way. In which it ruined the book and story in its entirety for me.
