- Machinery safety
- Finance: to develop skills with specific programmes they use
they need more concrete topics
- Finance request sessions with specific departments (e.g. admissions or new teams), they get wrong info because they didn't talk with finances; or they would like to have information about other departments
- Finance: Excel, but specific to their needs, and to their level, or Word, or other programmes - follow up on previous workshops; more IT related subjects; powerpoint
Procure is more specific, but also important
- More of the same from last year's sessions
- Chemical safety regulations, 
- Electrical safety,
- Radioactive safety,

Reporting accidents/near misses, 
-  Waste disposal (particularly chemical) all with the emphasis on Belgian law.

Everybody can decide what workshop is most interesting to them, or most appropriate, and sign up for the workshops that are most tailored to their wishes/areas they wish to develop, rather than "one workshop/CPD fits all". 
- It was nice to have some recognition for the talent already available at school, there was a lot of interest to present
- The former CPD days often did not 'include' our type of staff at all (ie most subjects were teaching/learning based). The new PL days don't do this specifically either, but we can at least select something of interest to us either personally or professionally.
- The new style PL days give you the flexibility to choose what you would like to attend - previously, we were told what we had to do and it was often not relevant to our role at all. The choice means we can plan the day and fill in gaps with prep work etc to suit us and our workload.
- Even if not specific for HR, they found it interesting
- A feeling of fairness
- Diversity and choice

subjects are ok, interesting, but not useful for work
they feel stress that work is behind
- Finance: Have no time to do the basic, no need for learning
- Holidays cannot be booked at those times but can be actually be taken at other times of the year, not just school holidays. And these do not always coincide with Belgian schools.
- Was everyone following sessions, was there a control?
- Language issue for some groups (bus supervisors, maintenance) - don't speak English for instance
- OP staff should not be expected to do their work on PL days but LT has to enforce that idea, lead by example, include people in other things, people can't be asked to work in other things
- Have PL days off campus
- What does management/LT do - LT together, leadership?
- HR wKristin, and all together - finances, hr, campus ops, admissions, enrichment, counsellors +nurses
- Should not be expected to work!!!!
- Don't overkill of information
- Working as 'whole school' means we are a very small group of specialists who have specialist needs in terms of training.
- A downside, or "danger" of the new style, is that the school might no longer invite external specialists to run workshops or CPD days. I do not feel that the workshops on these PL days can fully replace external specialists, courses or conferences. CPD should be a balance between sharing knowledge amongst colleagues (to broaden your knowledge or give you fresh ideas/new techniques) and training sessions offered by an external specialist or an external organisation (for more advanced or complex training). We have to consider our own CPD needs (in terms of legal requirement that allows us to work, for instance) and for our knowledge and practice to be up to date. Management seemed to understand the importance of our CPD and agreed to help, to enable us to meet our legal requirements. It might mean that we have to search out relevant courses etc for ourselves, but they would help where possible to enable us to attend or bring the training to us.

We have the feeling that most of the school has no clue about what our job entails. There is also a lack of understanding about our level of expertise and we are systematically kept out of the teaching loop. If the content of our job was better known, we could provide more added value to the school (and feel more appreciated, obviously).
- In the future nurses will have to deliver yearly First aid awareness training for staff during PL days. In a way this is where nurses can contribute to teaching, but it would mean that they would be unable to attend any other sessions.

School nursing in Europe is a very isolating occupation generally as the nurses are often alone or in a very small group at each school without any other members of a multi discipline team. It is often difficult to share ideas and knowledge with others. Sadly there is only one school among the group I know, that offers a formal course for CPD each year.
It may be that we need to think in the same way as the latest PL idea and invite other nurses in with a guest speaker? 
- It would be nice to have the opportunity to follow specific training outside of BSB. In the past this type of request has been systematically rejected. Giving the international character of our school, lots of parents might not be able to access local workshops about parenting, stimulating a child's development, etc. Perhaps this could be a good opportunity for the school to meet some of those needs through organising specific workshops for parents.
