Today is my first day to start my work for SIEP Program at Mc Donald's Restaurant. I was working as a barista for Mccafe counter. Mccafe is a sub-counter of Mc Donald's Restaurant which selling coffee drinks and desserts. The examples of the drinks that are available at Mccafe included Latte, Expresso, Cappuccino, Americano, Flat White, Mocha, Hot Chocolate, Iced Chocolate and so on. There are six types of desserts provided at Mccafe which are Chocolate Moist Cake, Strawberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Lava Cake, Red Velvet Cake, Banana Muffin and Chocolate Muffin. Today I have been asked to stand aside and learn with the staff how to use the coffee machine to make coffee first then only try to make coffee myself for the customers. Today, most of the time I am in charge of serving cakes and receive orders and payments. These jobs are very easy thus they let me to handle it. I just need to alert with the order of customers and remember the steps of serving cakes. i just need to remember only Chocolate Lava Cake and Muffin Cake need to be warm up with oven first before serving for customers. Other cakes are serve as usual. Today i was very excited because i wanted to try to be a barista quite a long time already. I felt very cool when watching others using the coffee machines well and make beautiful arts on the coffee. Until today, finally i got the chance to try myself which learning making coffee and doing beautiful arts with coffee. The staff which name Putra, teach me very nicely how to use the coffee machine, today i also get the chance to make severals coffee with the guide of Putra. Maybe because I was very interested, I find out that it was not difficult making coffee drinks. I success to learn making Lattes, Cappacino, Expresso, Americano, Flat White, Chocolate drinks and Mocha which are the drinks that frequently order by customers. The only things that i felt difficult is the art that on the coffee. Most of the times i tried to make arts on coffee drinks was failed. Putra told me that i failed to draw out the arts is because not enough milk foamer or too much milk former of the milk that i warm up using coffee machine. Then, i been trained to keep learning making milk former once got order. I am very happy today and I hope I can doing better and better as a barista at Mccafe.

Today is my second day, besides of learning making coffee drinks, i also get to know more and more staff. Today not so many customers during my working times. They told me that, when there was no customers, I can do some cleaning or refilling actions such as wash the dish and cups or refill the plastic cups. While doing these, we talk and try to get to know each other. After conversation, then only i know that Putra, which the permanent staff that teach me how to make coffee only 19 years old. He was so young. After he know my aged, he stop me to call him "abang", he said that called my name- Putra enough. After idle talk, then only I know most of Mc Donald's staff which wearing red colour or orange colour shirts are very young which aged around 18 to 24 years old only. Besides that, I also think that all of them are very kind and friendly. They will keep try to talk with me when free to make me feel comfortable. They also keep helping me when notice that I face problems such as unable to find the place that store the plastic cups when want to fill up the cups. I love this job and the peoples around here. Nice to meet you all, guys.

Today is the third day I working as a barista at Mccafe. Everything was as usual. Today, I start receive order, receive payment, then makes coffee and serve the order by myself. I able to serve the order myself without the helping of others. And, i also get more and more confident when saw the smiling from the customers. Sometimes I still fail to makes beautiful arts on the coffee drinks but I am appreciate that the customers are showing understanding that i am still a newbie as a barista, they satisfied as long as the taste of the coffee drinks is correct. With the support and the understanding of the customers, I am getting more and more confident and become more faster when making coffee. This is because I start able to memories the ingredients of the different coffee drinks, this help me reduce the times of referring the instructions paper of making coffee drinks. The customers will be able to receiving their drinks with shorter waiting time. Today I also learn to fold the tissue that as the holder place for the Latte drinks cup. We will also give a tray for the customers to easy them to bring the drinks to their sit as long as they order more than one cup of drinks. Everything is going smooth today and I am appreciated.

Today, I am receiving orders and makes coffee drinks as usual. Today I get the chance to learn how to clean up the coffee machine when closing. I may on duties  alone for the closing hours, thus I need to learn so that I able to on duties alone at closing hours. We need to take good care of coffee machine because coffee machine is like the heart of making coffee, without the machine, we will not be able to make coffee drinks. Actually there was not difficult to clean up the coffee machine. First, we need to clear all the coffee inside the machine, so what we do is close the hole that insert the coffee bean with a stopper, then press out all the coffee until the water that come out from machine become white. When the water formed white colour, that means there was no more coffee inside the machine. Second, press the "clean" button and open the dustbin of the machine which is on the left hand side of the machine. Open and throw the coffee powder that inside the dustbin. Put back the dustbin and close. Third, pull out the hole that coffee come out and clean the below of the hole. Fourth, insert the pill which use to clean the machine from the top. The machine will start to clean up inside after insert the pill. Last, after machine done clean up, switch off the machine. I am so happy I learning new things and gain more knowledge about coffee machine.^^I love learning new things and this is what I want to learn for quite a long time. It's totally a wonderful experience for me.

Today, I am on duty for night shift. Today was very busy and a lot of customers ordering Mccafe drinks. Started 7.30pm, customers started increasing more and more. I kept receiving order and help Putra making coffee drinks non-stop. Luckily the customers of Mccafe understand that there was really a lot of people, then queue and wait patiently for the coffee drinks. Once we done settle all the order, then only I notice it was about 10.30pm already. Putra asked me go and have my break. Today I was working for 8 hours which from 6pm to 2am. Although I am a part time worker, but I will be giving a half hour break as long as I work more than 4 hours. For example, if we only work for 4 hours in today shift, then there will not have break given for us. The food that I having during my break is free. I just need to tell the manager on duty what I want to eat, the manager will ask staff kitchen prepare for me, then I can take my food to the restroom and eat. After my food is ready, I took it and go to manager desk to take my phone, then only I go to restroom. One of the rule that working at Mccafe as a part time is no cellphone during working. The manager worried that we cannot control ourselves no cellphone during working, thus they will ask us to put our handphone at the drawer before start working. Every part time members has been request to do so. There will have CCTV and manager sit at the manager area, so we do not need to worry about our cellphone will be steal. After having my break, I continued working. Normally Mccafe counter close about 12am or 1am, thus I help doing closing today. I noticed that time flow fast when we are busy. Anywhere, it is an enrich day for me.

Today, I also working for night shift which is 6pm to 2am. Today is a challenging day because I am going to on duty alone. When I notice that no others barista on duty with me today, I feel a little bit scared. I scared that no fast enough serving drinks because they will be a lot of customers for night time. Manager on duty today, which is Faez was very nice and friendly, he notice that and come and ask me okay or not before I start working, he told me that not need to worry and comfort me, no others barista with me tonight but we still got staff who work as Gel, they also know how to make coffee drinks, I can ask them to help me if there were too much of orders. I said okay with him and start working. As expected, more and more orders like yesterday night. 3 counter which are drive thru counter, fast food main counter and Mccafe counter, 3 counter keep receiving orders of coffee drinks, my speed cannot affort the speed of incoming orders because making coffee drinks need time. Suddenly, someone appear beside me when I was very busy. It Kak Wawa, she said that she saw so many customers order Mccafe drinks, so she come and see whether I need help or not. Oh my god,  she is like an angel for me at the timing, of course I need help, if not the customers is going to wait long time for their drinks. I smile and said yes. We start to cooperate together and serve the orders. I keep receiving order, serving dessert and making cold drinks and she keep making hot drinks. Hot drinks need more time because need to take time to warm up the milk and make milk foam. We cooperate well. We settle all the order perfectly. When 1am o'clock, I close the Mccafe counter, I done all the closing work today which are clean up the coffee machine, refill all the cups, sugar and straw, clear all the ice, mop the floor, clean up the wash basin, store the cake, and throw the rubbish before I go back.  Today, Although I was very busy until I dint go for my break, I felt very thankful and lucky that there was a lot of people who willing to help me when I am in need.Thanks a lot^^

Today, schedule showing that I am going to work for 4pm to 10pm. About 1pm, when I was having my lunch at home, I suddenly receive a called from Mc Donald's Restaurant. It was the manager on duty calling which ask me whether I able to go to work earlier or not because there will be no barista at 2pm to 4 pm. I accept the request from the manager and I go working at 2pm as I promised. On duty for lunch hours is more easier for me because lunch hour is less people compared to dinner hours. As usual, I makes the drinks when receiving order. When 6pm, Putra came, today is him in charge of closing Mccafe. I have my break at 6.30pm after Putra came and go back home at 10pm. Today is an easy day for me and I dint felt any tired although I have working for 8 hours today. It is a totally different feel when on duty for lunch time and dinner time.

Today, I am working for 4 hours only which are 6pm to 12am. I am doing my job as usual. Today, the barista which on duty with me was Mimi, Mimi is very young, she only 20 years old and she is cute. Mimi was on duty at 6pm to 2am, thus she will do the closing for today. We talk to each other when free. she ask about my profile such as where I study and my status. She told me that she plan to quit the job and continue study after this. I support her idea because I think that she was very young. Today, I am very happy because I get praise from other staff, she told me that she noticed that my skill of doing arts on coffee drinks is more and more beautiful and stable. She said that I am growing and learning well. I was very happy when hearing that. I also felt that I improve a lot compared from the start. There was one thing happening today, which the ice machine behind was not functioning well, we face the problem of not enough ice when dinner hours. We been request by manager to stop receiving cold drinks orders after this. We only able to serve hot drinks. Some customers are disappointed when failed to order cold drinks. We also apologize for the inconvenience that brings to customers. We wait about 30 minutes, the ice machine able to continue making some ices, then only we continue to receive cold drinks orders. I go back home after finish working at 12.20pm.

Today is the ninth day for my siep 2. Today, I am on duty for morning shift which is 10pm to 6pm. Today was less customers. I am very free, so I use the time to clean up the working area as usual. I wash all the cups and dish, add on the displace cakes, top up the plastic cups and cups cover, lap the counter and add on the sugar and straws. I was on duty alone, thus today I in charge of every orders of Maccafe items. I receive orders, receive payment, makes drinks and serve it myself. There was less customers and less order during afternoon and lunch time today, thus it is very easy for me to handle. Today everything goes smooth and well. I finish working and went home after the next on duty person came.

Today is the last day for my SIEP 2. I followed working schedule that had been arranged and on duty for my working hours as usual. Today, I on duty for morning shift which is 6am to 2pm. I used half hour to set up all the things(doing opening) before start receiving orders. I go to the cold freezer and take out the cake for display. Another things that I need to do is switch on the coffee machine, add in coffee beans and put the chocolate powder and frappe powder in their vessel for ready use. I have been requested to stay and continue help Mc Donald's Restaurant for another 4 days because they still need extra staff for this period. I only accept to stay and work for 2 more days because I need to go back to Kelantan for my final exam later. The managers agree with that. This is a memorable and priceless experience in my life and I think that, I will definitely come back and work if they need extra staff when I was free.
