On my first day I realized that I wasn't like other people. Almost everyone at my school was popular, and very outgoing. While I was short, shy, and wasn't very well known.  I tried to be everything they were, but it never worked. I only had a few friends from my old school that I barely talked to. Then later on in the year I realized that when I was myself, I felt the happiest. Even when I was myself, I was popular and had many friends who liked me because of who I was.

How does this relate to the theme?

This example relates to the theme because it shows how you  have to do what makes you feel happy. Also how changing yourself doesn’t make you as happy. Also how changing your self to be like others doesn’t make you special.

My first year of playing on a real team was when I was 7 years old. I had so much fun, yet I always thought that everyone else on my team was better than me. So I practiced every day, and tried to do the same things they did during practices and games. There were always two people on my team who were the most popular. I was never one of them. Then when I was 10, instead of being like everyone else. I was myself, and used my own tricks and won a lot of games.

I wasn't prepared since I didn't have a summer because my old school ended a week before my new school started. On my first day I realized how everyone was different. Just like how I felt at my old school. Yet this was different, people were older and less yet more mature at the same time. Something that is similar is how I tried to fit in. Like my old school, it didn’t work out. People liked me for who I am. In fact my friends knew that I was different when I was trying to be like other people., and didn’t like it.
