An ozone generating, wearable device that can be used to treat chronic wounds infected with films of resistant bacteria. These are difficult to treat and require long term care and frequent visits to clinic. Ozone is believed to help with healing and currently only used in clinical settings. This product is wearable which makes the healing process convenient, available to patients on the go. "Once turned on, the device provides a steady stream of ozone, which kills bacteria present on the wound by oxidizing the bacterial cells and rupturing them" (Hastings, 2020).

I have seen 3rd and 4th degree non-healing wounds in my practice which are constantly debrided- not for healing purposes but to keep them clean and free from bacteria. The odor and pain also go hand in hand and unfortunately patients have to live with it! Cost and distance from the hospital are reasons why patients don't seek treatment. Keeping all that in mind, its a great idea to have something portable, cheaper and working constantly on the wound-it could potentially be used at earlier stages and help with healing. However, I would like to see results from clinical trials to figure out the efficacy and any long term consequences there might be.
